Pretty severe heart attack. The complications after have been equally as bad. Things generally suck right now 😢

Were you at home, or on the trail, or driving?
Hope things get better, that must be a wake-up call of sorts.

Thankfully I was at home. If I had been out on the trail and/or even out driving somewhere the outcome would likely have been very different. If anyone ever wondered, a heart attack hurts worse than pretty much anything else you've ever experienced.

Vibes and a speedy recovery. If it is more painful than a kidney stone, I don't even wanna think about that. And I am guessing it just might be...

Yeah it makes passing a stone seem easy.

The thing that's got me the most is they solved the problem right away and got the stent in. After that there was a rare complication and it will have me laid up for at least a week. I can't even sit up and haven't been off my back since 4pm on Friday and won't be walking for another 3-5 days.

Geez GL, really bummed to read this thread, but glad you're here to type it out. Rest, go slow, and cardiac rehab. Glad you're alive and hope to see you out there next season.

Lost track of how many friends in our fifites have dropped dead with little or no warning from the widowmaker. After some light headed, dizzyness at the end of long backpacking day I decided to let my neurologist know. He also does stroke prevention with a side of cardio. My blood work came back borderline but OK. I recommend everyone get checked for warning signs and if beyond normal levels, go get the stress test done. Being active and eating relatively well isn't enough once you hit the upper 40s. Lots of really fit people I know still dropped Most had high cholesterol that could have been treated pretty easily to prevent the big one

Heal up Gravity L, I bet you've got a new perspective on life and shit after that close call experience.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!
