Went last year end of April and it was great. Had one storm day and a couple of real nice sunny warm days. The how to ski Banff thread has all the info a gaper could need and then some. Search it

banff is still gaining snow base until end of april/early may. Can still be winter conditions. Coverage is good, days are long/warm. MIGHT be biking/hiking at low elevation, ski hill is empty.
Anytime after easter is a good time to come really

Still wintery. Shouldn't be a problem. Skied Kicking horse last year mid march and the lower mountain was icy but the upper mountain was full on winter. When I used to live in Calgary and it would be late May before we could spring ski. Even then it wasn't exactly warm.

Banff is great in April. Still wintery up high, though the slopes can get sun affected on sunny days. The back bowls of Lake Louise are prime in early April.
