But seriously...
The same is true of every country in the world.
Well, pre-McD's, and barring famine, etc.
I tried to like tamales, but realized didn't really when pulling years old ones out of freezer to toss.
But then, 'cos I am a Veggy, no soft piggy lard in 'em, so...

Posted this before somewhere else, but for a high fuel sandwich for powder days:
Plain bagel with peanut butter on one side...Cream cheese on the other side... then a slice of blueberry PIE in the middle.
Wrap in wax paper, then in zip lock bag. It will provide energy for those long powder days.
I call it the “SkiBum Nuke”

I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Cheap steak wrapped in tin foil on the engine manifold on the drive up. Slap it on bread with accouterments upon arrival and into the pocket.

SkiBum Quisine
Other random peeps food that they don’t finish at the ski hill cafeteria. Offer to bus their plates and eat the remaining fries, partially eaten dogs, etc...
Pasta and tomato paste. A friend spent a whole year in college eating mostly this and surfing on couches and “sharing” beds. Averaged $13/week for living expenses in the mid-90’s.
Get ski bum job waiting tables or a close friend that does this and bring home the uneaten food from customers. I had a roommate that worked at a bagel shop, he kept the house if 5-10 peeps fed on 2nd day olds.

Took a 6 day road trip earlier this month, packed about 15 pounds of Elk and ate like kings with our Coleman grill in the parking lot, rest stops and traded some for a couch to sleep on. Way better than 6 days of PB&J

My go-to cheap on the hill fuel is tuna sandwich
Cheap, easily portable, and tastes better after chilling in your coat pocket for a few hours

I miss Mexican food.
Rosti (Swiss hash browns) + bacon + cheese + egg
I do cheese fondue once a week, occasionally more
There is (are? - grammar junkies please confirm) a remarkable number of really good instant soups.
