    Drilling out Dynafit binding holes

I can't find it now, but I think I recall seeing some discussion here about drilling out the screw holes on Dynafit bindings before mounting. I'm about to mount some Beast 14s, and am considering drilling out the interference fit on the screw holes so that the binding mounts more smoothly.

Any drawbacks? What's the point of Dynafit designing the bindings to capture the screws that tightly? - are they trying to make the little threaded part of the binding help hold onto the screw?

The last Beasts I mounted (16s) were a major PITA, and I didn't drill out the screw holes on those bindings before mounting. The torx screws that Dynafit is using currently are irritating.

    No drawbacks

All the holding power will be closer to the top of the hole, maybe they don't want you to lose the screws ?

Pay attention to if all the screws are the same
length and don't mix them up

Don't make the holes too big

I get where you are coming from, OTOH, the surface area is increased and they handle torque so much better IMO. What does irritate me is some of the bike component mfg's that are migrating to the standard for no good reason (hello SRAM).

you could probably just rotate a bit by hand to make the hole slightly bigger
