Did I misunderstand something?

The SuperCapacitor’s ability to store energy without slow leakage is
dependent on the installation of two AA batteries in the system as well
as how long the system is powered on. The SuperCapacitor can remain
fully charged for 2-3 months while stored with the insertion of two new
AA batteries.

I am curious as to what your Organizations policies towards when to wear them VS when it is ok to not wear them shakes out.

I'm on my second season with a jetforce pack and use it every time I go out no matter the avy forecast. There is a weight penalty for sure but I'm happy with the pack (Halo). Like another poster said, you most definitely don't need to plug it in after each day.

Testing units today.

Mine worked once and then wouldn't release again and I lost all confidence in the product. Based on that, I would highly recommend consistent testing, since not needing to refill canisters is kind of the point.

Yeah we went through all of them and had folks deploy them a couple of times when we issued them. I deployed and repacked mine 3 times with no issues.

I’ve been using mine for a while and it’s always worked. Definitely heavy but it carries weight pretty well and I can take on a plane.

Heavy for sure, but a streamlined package and it fits and carries well. It will be a lot heavier with a dozen shots in it. ❄️

Got our Voltair packs halfway through last season, now onto our first full season. probably 40+ days of control use so far. Don't know about the BD system's specifically but the dead chicken battery system saves a charge for ever. They both carry weight really well though.

Our crew is concerned about the lack of worksite testing regarding battery systems and fuses. Rules and protocols in this industry seem to be made after accidents, and we don't want to make the rule. That being said, no one here remembers a radio spontaneously combusting or sparking...

The BB crew tried all sorts of experiments with cap & fuse and could not reliably get a cap to fire outside of the spit from safety fuse. This included dropping weights from different heights onto a cap on a steel plate and wiring a # 8 cap to a 12 V car battery, it finally got hot enough to fire but it was glowing red.

I have thrown shots for 30+ years at 5 different Class A areas and would not be worried about your airbag setting off a cap.

One thing you might consider is putting your shots in anti static bag. I use to order them by the 100s, same things as what they put electronics in prior to shipping, standard zip closure and big enough to carry 6 shots. Nice thing is they keep the PETN dust out of your stuff.

If you wouldn't mind when you have time could you describe "your when to carry your airbag policy?"

We carry a lot of shots. We use anti static bags. I’m not at all worried about airbag, cell phone, vape pen or vibrator setting off cap and fuse. We are looking at the carry policy. Not set in stone yet.

The most fun I ever had was doing heli AC for Juneau powerlines. Jet fuel baby

We're mostly worried about battery failure and open flame on fuse, not cap impact or arc. Unlikely, and even more unlikely to not notice, but chinese Li-ion batteries have a great recent track record.

Nice thing is they keep the PETN dust out of your stuff.

That'll take all the fun out of it when airport security sees a dyno nobel sticker in my passport

I meant that during transport, a battery failing represents a fire risk, and could ignite a fuse.. or are you referring to something else

No I was confused, hopefully your partner would see your pack on fire before times up. We haven’t gone to mandatory airbags, there’s some interesting talking points here though
