This should be in the shit that annoys you thread but damn if it isn’t annoying enough to have multiple skis sharing the same name but boots too?
I know the did they same shit with Pinnacle but maybe it’s more irksome this year because I actually want to try out the mind bender skis

The lever is almost identical. These were 25.5’s and were heavier than my 120 26.5 XTD’s by a good amount. 99 last I believe but felt slightly wider and I have a fat foot. ROM wasn’t bad for a hybrid boot.

I'm told they're also changing the forward lean out of the box. shop owner was uncertain if they were changing something in the mold or simply which flip chip came with the boot.
discussion came up after he got me one of the 13/19 flip chips. would be curious if anyone closer to amer can confirm.

Where can I get one of those flip chips? No response from the local dealer so need to start looking abroad.

New Hawx Ultra XTD 130 for next year sees the following updates:
1. New liner has a much improved fit in the heel/ankle and tongue. Tongue gets a supportive plastic shield over the shin area.
2. Sole goes GripWalk (applies to all XTD boots)
3. New buckles borrow tech from Backland, allowing more useable cuff ROM and easier transitions (applies to all XTD boots)
4. Cam-style power strap
No change to plastics (remains in Grilamid), no change to forward lean (15° out of the box, can be flipped to 17°). A 13°/19° flip chip is available as a spare part- your local Atomic dealer just needs to download the latest spare part catalog and order the part.

Hey Onenerdykid - since you're on here... How do next years Backland carbon boots compare to the current ones as far as stiffness, without having a tongue? I thought I read somehwere that they have a taller cuff, is that true?

Goal was to keep the same stiffness but get rid of the tongue / fiddle factor. The new Backland boots for next year have a much more stable lower shell, taller cuff, taller liner, and a more supportive liner. When we put old Backland Carbon and new Backland Carbon into our flex testing machine, we see the same overall stiffness but the new boot has a more progressive flex pattern. New boot weighs about 50g less than the old boot with tongue.

Any chance they’ve altered the geometry of the sole so it is compatible with Shifts?

Can vouch for the Line Vision 108. I asked the rep what they had that was similar to the SN 108 and he gave me some Vision 108s to try. Still can’t believe how stable and damp that ski is for its weight. It’s nuts really. A more playful SN 108. Similar stability, but easier to break loose with the larger tip and tail splay. Seemed liked they floated better than the old SN 108. Sweet ski!
