Arrow WTB: Beginner skis for wife ~160 - 167cm

Wife wants to start skiing and I need an inexpensive pair of skis to see if she will like it before committing to a nice pair. Anyone have an older set lying around that want to part with? Craigslist search has not yielded many beginner skis that are newer than 1992.

She pretty large? That’s a lot of ski for a true beginner. I would go shorter rather than longer to be safe unless she is like 5 ft 8 and weighs accordingly.

I have a pair of Rossignol temptation 77s that I will be offloading soon. But much shorter, they are 152 I think. These ones https://www.evo.com/outlet/ski-packa...indings-womens

    Where are you?
Have a coupla pairs of beginner Rossi's+binders you could have for not much $$.
Bought in 2001. Think around 160 but need to check.

    Agree with go short.
Hold skis up next to you. Beginners should come up to about your nose.
    Intermediate, forehead.
    Expert, over head.
    Or something like that.

Concur on going down to 150 or so. My fiancée is on some around that long after two seasons of skiing a little here and there but she is 5’3 and 117pounds

Sorry about the confusion. My memory had calculated that 59" (her nose) = 160cm, but that is NOT the case. 59" = 150cm, so anything 150cm to 157cm should be fine.

She's 5'-8", and not "pretty large", but I think in the low 150cm range would be good for her. Sorry I screwed up the math.

    I'm located in Seattle.

I’ve got some good beginner/intermediate 157ish skis I’ll let go for cheap that my wife learned on a couple seasons ago. I’ll PM you tomorrow when I’m home from the mountain.

Also located in Seattle. My wife is 5’7.
