Wharf Rat. No logical reason why, but for some reason I just can't stand it.

    beece is tone deaf.

I'm generally a huge Brent fan as he brought out some of the best of Jerry during those time, but this song is just a sappy version of something that Michael McDonald would have put out and could have been sandwiched between "Addicted to Love" and the Eagles "Lyin' Eyes" on lite radio in the early '90s.

yeah, that's pretty bad. But I can't say I recall every seeing that live (or maybe I just suppressed the memory). Victim or the Crime always annoyed me from that era, and I definitely recall seeing that one a few times.

My least favorite would be anything with Donna wailing off-key, but I never saw Donna live.

Too popular for some cool heads, but sugar mag might be the best gd song written. It’s got everything. For pure Jerry, eyes might be the greatest. Personally, I love loser (3-24-90!), jack straw (10-20-84!)... too many to list but terrapin should be in top 10.
As mentioned above, days between has the best lyrics of post 82 songwriting, IMO. Great stuff.

Hunter wrote Ripple, Brokedown and To Lay Me Down one day in London. I'd love to know the story of the lady that broke his heart so bad that those three songs all came out at once.

    Stunning.

    Funny.

I was at the '93 shows. Shakedown street at that venue was amazing. Full live band in the lot after the show. And the burrito wagon people! So damn good.

The deep elum from reconing was high on my list too.

Dead a little different for me, I like certian versions of songs from certian tapes I had in college. I played the tapes until they just freakin fell apart, and did without until I discovered the archive, and I've found most of them; but I've also found that audiance recordings at the same venue render the song wildly different' esp. with this new thing to turn the dolby off.

all those things said, these are my absolute favorites

8-10-82 Feel like a stranger. this one exists only in my memory currently, but I haven't been fully through the archive. the version I had in college was spectacular. the one i found in the archive is okay.
8-10-82 Baby blue encore (same, still haven't found a replacement)
10-5-84 China Cat=>rider, profit. the est. profit here is unbeleivable. Found an archive version that sparkles like the tape I had. plus, "I was there!"
6-27-83 Cold rain & snow=>hell in a bucket, sugaree. the cold rain here is as close to heavy metal as I've ever heard the dead.

The baltimore 82 terrapin was high on the list to.
    "Can't you see..."

I'm probably, no, definitely, lame for saying a studio track is my favorite dead song...but the studio Help On The Way/Slipknot!>Franklins Tower is just so good!

Technically 2 maybe even 3 songs but I never listen to one without the other, I'm calling it one song.
