Looking for a Smith io fan goggle circuit board
Mine got destroyed by leaking battery, contacted Smith CS and they only will warranty it for manufacture defect. Not gonna happen.
The circuit board is KAPUT and i can not even see the part # for it if it even had one, most do.
Does anyone have a lead for the PCB on this? Even a # would be helpful.
It looks like this
I did a google search for it but can not find an image.

the fan idea works pretty good when it works but I've kacked the turbo fan battery pack on 2 pair of goggles and at this point I have given up on the fan becuz everything from the fan on back to the battery is just poor quality.
It needs to have better wiring with a plug so you can easily replace it and a better batterybox that doesn't unclip itself from the goggle band, I put an elastic band around the battery box to keep it from falling off the head band
the good news is its a pretty good goggle even when the fan shits the bed
edit: I looked for the old box but I can't find itLast edited by XXX-er; 12-10-2018 at 02:05 PM.

Is that inside the battery box/switch unit?
I need to check. Might have a whole battery box.
(Got tore off in trees. Just did without afterwards)

Yes, its the inside of the battery box. The board nests in a slotted area and the batteries next to it. There is a L shaped plastic cover that goes over the PCB and helps hold it in place, not shown in pic.
The square part in the center has a push micro switch on top of it and is indeed the on/off button.

Just an update, contacted Smith again and they said send them in. Reckon that is what I will do.
They will fix them or I get a 50% off a new pair, yadda yadda.
I kind of like these even with the fan no workie.

Cool. I do not have a spare battery box.
Did you ever use the previous Smith turbo fan goggles?
The Prophecy & Phenom?
Such a better battery switch unit.
Smaller, and you could lock it into Off.
The I/Ox one was always using up its batteries when it was packed away by coming on. Sux.

Yes, I have the other versions. They both still work although I had to re solder the wires on the Phenom. PITA but can be done.
I have had the fan come on in the gear bag also. Found the trick to put them inside my helmet with a skull cap, as padding and it has not happened since.

Bump, as I found out that I stored an old turbofan Phenom with a battery left inside... and it leaked. Electrician friend tried re-soldering the wiring (which corroded and snapped off), but no go.
Has anyone tried wiring in a simple battery box with an on/off switch? Why does something this basic need a circuit board?

^^^ In the purchasing options, you can get a single AA case, with on/off switch, shipped for $1.

I may have one from a pair of goggles where the foam disintegrated. I can check this weekend, would be free

Ah I missed that. I'll see about what I find.
That pcb looks pretty simple but your AA battery plus switch plan might not work from what I see. It's not clear from that picture but if I have one I'll see what's on it. You may be able to find a similar circuit on another module

I threw out an old one of these just a few days ago. Might still be in the trash on top if I threw it in the laundry room trash. Will look.

The I/OX(S?) seems to breathe really good without the Turbo-fan. Compared to Prodigy/Prophecy/Phenom/etc.
But, if gonna use turbo-fan, those old ones had better on/off battery box system, imho.
Although fan would sometimes ice up, iirc.
