Christmassy family stuff to do in Denver
Specifically, next weekend 12/14-16.
My youngest daughter’s LEGO-league team is headed for the state championship in Denver next Saturday 12/15.
We are trying to embrace it and making a holiday trip up there for the shindig
We’d like to do something fun with them, we are staying at the Hyatt at the Colorado Convention Center.
What to do? Cinderella is $100/ticket. Elf is sold out?
Kids are 14 & 11 and aren’t looking for some Santa themed bullshit. More like music or dance. Or I’d like to see some kind of orchestra or classical performance?
Or something less...mainstream? Circus? Magic? Art?
Really, we are looking for recommendations for Friday 12/14 and Saturday 12/15.
Anyone?

There is a German Christmas festival downtown that is fun for a bratwurst, mulled wine, and 1 hour or so looking at the stands.

Zoo lights for sure. Christmas market was ok but it's loud in the tent with the music and beer and my kids couldn't wait to get out of there. Lots of snacks though. Denver botanic gardens at Chatfield have great lights as well and they're only about 15 minutes south of downtown. Casa Bonita is freaking terrible but it's entirely too much fun for the kids. You just have to treat it like the show is paramount and dinner is secondary. And yeah, go to voodoo and get a donut.
Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!

^^^ Hudson Gardens is great too. Big fun for the little ones with a kind of old school vibe to the decorations.

The zoo is good, as is the aquarium.
