90 and skiing. Awesome. We are over here for the weekend. Maybe Sunday if weather looks good. Otherwise, bike, beers, bbq, and bday celebrations for my wife! Anyone headed up to Bachy Sunday?

Have a good summer all! It was a good year. My wife, for the first time ever, says she did not get enough good days in this year, and is already looking forward to the return of winter. That is a groundbreaking attitude shift!!!!

Anyone interested in a Shasta climb? Headed down from Bend with a buddy and will be camping Saturday, summit Sunday. So far the forecast looks nice. Almost no wind forecast. We'll see if that holds up.

Did South Sister this morning. Epic skinning conditions, easy to get to the summit with no bootpacking. The top 1200 vert or so on the South Ridge was very nice, skied like 2-3 inches of powder with a smooth subsurface. Below that was super sticky mank, quite a slog back to the trailhead. Got cloudy right when I reached the summit so views weren’t quite as good as I hoped, and visibility on the descent was just alright. Snow to the trailhead.

Keep your eye on the prize. Beers don’t taste the same if you didn’t spend the day skiing.

^ Poor ski bowl finally thought they found a way to make money. Didn’t last long. Must have been a nice glaze on the snow. Did that with my kids and thought it was common knowledge to put your feet down to brake at the bottom. She probably drove up in a Tesla auto pilot or something.

I have memories from my childhood of guys being taken off the alpine slides on stretchers after leaving the entirety of their epidermis on the slide. The jean jacket jorts combo feels solid after a twelver of hamms but doesn’t provide that much protection.

    Thefortress, where’s that shot from?
