Nice fall weather in Central Oregon. Good for a mt bike ride or a hike with the dog.

    ^^^Top of Cone?

Looks like Timberline is going to add a Gondi from Summit in Govy to base of Mile. Creates the longest vert drop in USA
Prolly creates USA’s longest lift-served run in horizontal direction as well...

Nice. Next move would be a lift between Skibowl and Summit, right? I'd buy that pass.

Different owners so unlikely. A magic carpet on the overpass might be a cheaper idea anyway

Heh, did that as a kid, don't need a gondi. Hard part now is there's not enough reliable snow to get all the way to Summit base (3500' el?).

^^^Heh, that ran for a couple of years when I started. Cost more than a land bus, and usually broke down en route. Our ski bus from PDX took us all the way up

Way cool that they got the approval from NFS. I am glad that the Feds didn’t stand in the way of their obvious master plan for buying Summit.

My dream would be a train/light rail from about Sandy, and then a gondola from Timberline to Meadows.

Once completed, this gondola is 1/3 (the easiest and honestly the only probable part) of my dream but I have to have something to think on while crawling off the hill. If only we had the European spirit of Mountain development.

There is actually no designated Wilderness between T-Line and Meadows. Both resorts and White River Canyon are outside of the Wilderness boundary below ~8500'. Having said that, a gondi connecting the 2 resorts would never get approval. Nor would there be any benefit to it.

How’s your recovery coming along? Think you’ll be ok to noodle around on some early season corduroy?

I saw him a few weeks back. He was vigorous. I gave him some power tuna, so I imagine he's fully recovered if he ate that.

Longest and flattest run in the country is one hell of a marketing point
