I was at Meadows yesterday and it pretty much sucked balls. There was a little bit of fresh that was starting to fill in the lee sides of things, but most spots on groom were frozen cord. Too bad I spent $89 on Sunday rather than waiting for today.

Tap, jonesy, geppmeow and TBS had fun in 4” of cold smoke at Mt B today.
Thanks for helping me field test my new vape in cold, snowy conditions

Meadows was pretty good this morning. There was ice underneath the new snow pretty much everywhere. Everything but cascade was open at 9. Cascade opened around 10, heather open Azone down, no PR. Mostly lapped cascade until my legs were done. Did one silver bowl run, it was so-so, a mix of fresh lines with icy patches. No crowds or lines, thank you superbowl. I expect tomorrow to be pretty busy...

This afternoon kicked ass at MHM. Skied from 1-4, got deeper by the hour. Could feel the bottom, but the snow was skiing like 6”+ of good density snow. Coming down hard when I left the lot at 415 - tomorrows gonna be solid.

Will ping you RE: vmail soon. I've been busy as of late.

Hope you all are getting some. Nice to see the freezing levels drop. Some big dumps would be nice...I am bringing ski's to Seattle next week, and targeting some night ski action at Alpental!

the boy and I got the day free today but he's still battling a phlegmmy cough and has chess regionals on saturday so we stayed home. yesterday was awesome but too short, although it's nice to drop the boy off at school, ride hard and fast and get back in time to pick him up.

This sounds awesome! Love playing chess, but definitely cannot play at a competitive level. Hope he feels better! Good luck!

Twas a Nice day for a short bootpack above Cascade... stellar views, decent snow. Crunchy underneath with a layer of fluff on top.

he just started but LOVES it. he's on chess regionals team because the club needed 10, had 13, but 3 said they didn't want to go so the rest get to go. I wasn't expecting him to get picked so we were just going to watch but now he gets 4 matches guaranteed. it will be good for him and probably eye opening.

I'm finally going to learn so we can play together.

Tuesday is currently looking like the first legit chance for glory on Mt Hood this year. Possibly Wednesday if that storm slows down at all. Thinking about trying to work my 2nd ever half day off. Would be a solo trip for me so if anyone is adept at digging an upside down beater out of tree wells, lemme know!

Is this like the Mt Baker forecast on NOAA, at 10k + feet?

I don't see anything showing over 2 feet at resort level

edit- I see it now, 10 day forecast, I'd trust healing crystals and voodoo before I'd put all my faith in a 10 day forecast.

Usually I’m down for those magical days, but my burning question with the long term forecast is: what’s the weather on the I5 corridor Wednesday afternoon/evening to get up to BBI?

K2, maybe it won't be 48", but it will certainly be something and probably something worthwhile. Last time the 10 day forecast showed something crazy 10 days out, it was the massive inversion with the 55 degree highs at MHM. Pretty much nail on head there. The thing I like about this forecast is the prevailing low temps throughout the area. That's always when we get our best snow.

FT, sweet, I'll keep you posted if I pull the trigger.

AC, leave earlier on Wed if you can. Wed evening currently forecast to be a bad night to drive. Could change. I'll keep an eye on all of the above and report back as needed.

There was already at least one glory day at Hood this year. Monday, a few weeks ago. It was glorious.

Nonetheless, go chase and post pics.

Well that was super duper. Single digit cold in the a.m. and blowing plumes off the Summit, we scampered over to Cloud to rip some lips.

Summit ran pretty much as soon as chairs spun the whole way round. 11 o’clock? Was pretty good right off the top and even better the last 2/3.
