K2, maybe it won't be 48", but it will certainly be something and probably something worthwhile. Last time the 10 day forecast showed something crazy 10 days out, it was the massive inversion with the 55 degree highs at MHM. Pretty much nail on head there. The thing I like about this forecast is the prevailing low temps throughout the area. That's always when we get our best snow.

FT, sweet, I'll keep you posted if I pull the trigger.

AC, leave earlier on Wed if you can. Wed evening currently forecast to be a bad night to drive. Could change. I'll keep an eye on all of the above and report back as needed.

There was already at least one glory day at Hood this year. Monday, a few weeks ago. It was glorious.

Nonetheless, go chase and post pics.

Well that was super duper. Single digit cold in the a.m. and blowing plumes off the Summit, we scampered over to Cloud to rip some lips.

Summit ran pretty much as soon as chairs spun the whole way round. 11 o’clock? Was pretty good right off the top and even better the last 2/3.

Swung a deep Cows Face second lap. Also primo. That east wind put it deep in there.

Try this. Hit MHM goodness until noon. Skip the I-5 cluster. Go 35, 84, 97, 82, 90 and arrive at BBI hours earlier than I-5 route.

That's the old Best Western. It was good back on the 80's & 90's, then it shut down for a while.
Best price with a decent hot tub is the Super8, low budget and can be skanky.
Not worth the extra price to be out of town for how short the drive is IMO.
I booked online then haggled the Shilo down to a cheap rate last time.

Days Inn on 3rd has been really good to me the last 2 seasons but they raised their rates $10 last year (finally realized what a great deal they were). Rooms have always been clean with lots of room for skis/mtb gear and it’s the best value if you have a small dog IMO (they often waive the pet fee for smaller dogs). Hot tub and basic breakfast, a block from Dutch Bros and a million breakfast spots.

    18-19 Orygun, The Thread

The Loge is now part owned by Evo, so they have a bunch of gear to support folks like us. Not sure on food but Bach serves chow in the morning. Saw someone with a nice croissant sammy yday. I’ll be riding Mon-Tues.

Bachy breakfast burritos ain't bad. Easy to bring from home too and poach a microwave. Lots of great lodging options in the winter. Google hotel search always worked well for us. One year tetherow was 99/night too.

In other news, the big old Tuesday storm that had 48 inches over 10 days is now tracking much more toward the Sierras. Bachy still on track to get some love, but MHM, much less love. Looks like I owe K2 another one.

Sierra is singular, referring to the range as a whole. /calipolice

If this storm shapes up tonight/tomorrow, the Mrs and I will be out and about in the Hood backcountry tomorrow. Give me a shout if you're interested in walking for some laps.
