long day yesterday at the hill, got home late. woke up dead tired. boy comes down and climbs onto the sofa with me. "hey buddy! you want to go skiing?"

"i want to go skiing really really bad, dad."

this is his 6th season. if i didn't drag my ass up there today no matter how beat i felt i would have been letting him down. so we went and had a fantastic day. he gets better every day and he loves it. i hope we get to ride many years together.

Fast cold chauky snow. Lots of deflection on a bent ski, boom right out of the drivers seat when over pressured. Goodtimes tbs.

Heads up. Free mid week skiing at MHM for furloughed federal employees during the government shutdown. You might not be able to buy gas or food but at least you can ski.

The news does love an exciting weather story.

Top of Cascade or Vista might have hit 110. Top of MEX has only gusted to 57........but it is increasing.

Rain wasn't much of an issue. It was sunny at noon.
