The contraptions we saw today had a much smaller toe cup than the Dahu's in Cdub's link, and didn't have a tongue.
Great concept I guess, but no way can they replicate the stiffness and control of a real ski boot.

Anyone have recommendations for a Portland shop for bootfitting? I need to buy new liners / get them cooked and I may want some help with insoles and preventing heel lift too. My first thought would be Mountain Shop or Evo - is there anywhere else I should look into?

Those would both be good. I've had good experience with Evo. They let you make appointments now (I think online) and they serve you beer while you are getting your feet pampered.

Bob Olsen http://www.mthoodarc.com/contact/ just text or call his cell number to set up an appointment. IMO he is the guy for custom insoles and boot work. Worth the drive and I've been able combine it with some skiing on the same trip.

Mountain shop is a great place to buy boots, but Greg is your guy to get the boots worked on.

I guess I'll have to go up there and take a measurement myself...

Thanks guys! Bob Olson and Greg Coulter are both new to me, I will look into them. I need some advice on whether I need new shells or I can keep working with my old ones. They're not that worn, but my arch has flattened out and the fit has changed.

    18-19 Orygun, The Thread

MHM was a ghost town today with soft conditions on SS and Heather. Never saw another person on Heather chair.

Snowing since I got here earlier this afternoon - felt like a couple inches underfoot. Gonna be good Thursday and Friday if you can take off work!

Freezing rain in cascade locks/stevenson...moderate snow in white salmon/HR.

I am surprised to hear that it was soft in Heather today. Went for a tour up cooper spur yesterday and the crusts were absolutely horrendous from 4k-5.5k. Pretty decent snow on the spur. Looking forward to tomorrow and fri. Gotta get it before the rain does!

It's easier to just drive than walk.

Hope so. If the little one can fight off this cold.

Kinda sad about the forecast change. Yesterday it said was 4-8 tonight. Now it’s 1-3 ☹️

Its going around on this side of the hill also. Anything helps for snowpack but was hoping for some backside laps. Give me a shout if you all make it Friday. I'll be in uniform.

If anybody is going to be at The 'Doo on Saturday for BC Fest, Blazin' Saddles will be there with fat bikes
Stop by, ask for Casey and tell him his parole officer said hello.
