Anyone know what transit options are near magic? Have a family member who's trying to get up from NYC for a weekend. So far I see Greyhound in Manchester, Amtrak in Bellows Falls, or looks like Stratton runs their own bus. Any other options?

For a weekend? Easiest/quickest is train to Albany and then you pick them up. Amtrak if its a 4 day weekend and they’re planning to ski 2 and waste the other 2 days on the train.

Thanks - that route looks much better then the route to Bellows falls. Have some more family coming from Syracuse so that could work out perfect

The wet morning lifted and got better and better as the day went on. Lapping the creamy goodness with Goniff on Tali was fantastic.

I used the Stratton Jitney bus line last year and it worked great. Midtown to Zoey's Double Hex restaurant just outside of Manchester. It's pricy but convenient and times are right for weekenders. Still need a ride for the last 15 minutes to the mountain though.

Also rental car an option, if too expensive in city some people train it to White Plains and rent there. Sometimes return hours on Sunday are a pain though

There is a bus from the Albany bus and train station to Manchester. Pick them up at Zoeys.

    Thanks all.

Was leaning towards the Stratton jitney but they're coming up MLK weekend (yeah, I know) and need to be back Sunday...jitney only returns on Monday.

Good to know there's an Albany to Manchester bus though. I think we can get them a ride for this trip but that'd be far more convenient for us in the future.

Next question: anyone got a line on a place for 4-5 people over MLK weekend? Left a message at upper pass but their website is showing fully booked.

Many thanks to Magic for hosting a rando race last Saturday. Amazing that 25 people came to race uphill in the rain. Luckily the rain stopped partway through the race.

And I was once again reminded that Magic not only has great terrain, but great people.

Made my first visit on Sunday. I see why you guys love the place so much. Junior liked it too, though he was pretty tired from Saturday at Plattekill. We’re looking forward to our next visit.
