Magic delivered yesterday, woods, liftlines and natural trails in play. Only gonna get better if this weeks projected snow comes through. Did i mention zero waiting in line.

    Tis the Magic way!

Except with the holiday and fresh snow on the way, crowds should be healthy this weekend.

That said, the base is $$$ and pretty much any snow will put the mountain 100% in play. Who’s in?!??

One of the meteorological types help me out with the expected schedule for this snow?? Friday? Planning to be there (but primarily for kids' training) and have to be at Pico Saturday.

edit: just heard from someone at Magic that the expectation is heavy snow starting mid-day on Saturday through Sunday. I guess Sunday/Monday will be the days...expectation is Sunday race on Show Off will be canceled (but that is very unofficial--they probably won't pull the plug until later on Saturday when it becomes clear).

Actual timing and amount is firming up. Snow should start around sundown on Friday and it will be very intense. Probably 12" in 8 hours. It will then taper to just steady snow with another 12" in the next 14-16 hours. Travel on Saturday after sundown will be sporty. I wouldn't even think about traveling on Sunday until late in the day.

Maybe not as big as 3-8-2018 but it's going to be good. Looking at 15:1 water content...which is nice.

You mean Saturday around sundown, right? All the forecasts I'm seeing show dust on crust Saturday morning and no accumulating snow until late Saturday afternoon.

Looks to be starting off a little heavier and tapering off in density, which is perfect. This could be an all-timer!

You may want to rent a snowmobile.

Be smart and get to the mountain safely. Sunday = free refills all day so no need to drive dangerously to get there for first chair.

Staying over in Windham so hopefully won't have any issues. Been a while but if I recall that section of 121 isn't too bad. Most concerned about the steep hill going down 11.

Maybe we'll bring the skins and come over on foot - should be there sometime around Wednesday.

But thanks, will definitely play it safe. Wish we could stay for Monday too

Bring your twin tips, you can use the railing and stuck cars as features.
