    I debated.
I haven't even mounted them yet (will do so @-0.5; have binders and everyting) so didn't get a chance to A/B them prior to this trip.
Love my OG Fats (really,, best ski evar! (until maybe the new Fat))) and have a twice drilled back-up OG pair so haven't super motivated to drill the new ones.
Plus I've never spent ~$1000 on a pair of skis (prior to the new Fats) and was a little worried about taking them on a week long trip.
    I brought:

    MX98
    Lhasa Fat
    Kusala

I'm sure I'll regret leaving the new Fat at home a little.

Shout out to DjongoUnchained for showing around a greenhorn.
Ripped a bunch of steep groomers that one could set an edge to.
Softer as the day progressed, tomorrow should be softer yet.
    Dude doesn't ski slow.

    Humor highlights of the day:

Showing up to mountain a bit late and thought I might have missed him, but I saw a guy who fit Djongo's description and happily approached.
"Hey Djongo!" to which I get a blank stare.
"Change for a nickel?" to which I get a nervous smile.
Not the mag I'm looking for.
Djongo found me a moment later.

On a quad, we're joined by a young attractive women.
    Conversation ensues.
Near the top Djongo warns me "Watch out, these Jackson girls will you straighten out."
To which I reply without much thought "Ohh, I need some straigtening out."
    She laughted.

Don’t see as many iggys at the resort as you used to and rarely spot young folks skiing them. Still the best sticks goin! Parris seems to be building more than ever. Wonder where they are all goin?

If you see a guy with a graying beard ridin around on some walnut Iggys...good chance it’s me.

Igneous is like a fine bourbon - best in small batches. Parris mentioned a bunch were being built for folks over in Europe. I still can’t believe it’s been over 20 yrs since Adam made his first par.

Heard wispers of another burial earlier this season, may have just been locker room talk.

I skinned way up a canyon in the Big Holes and backed off a line I've been looking at for a while due to some sketchy structure and a reactive ECPT. Kinda nutty at that elevation.

6500-7500, rotten at the base with a solid wind slab. Mahogonay has some super cool terrain tucked back in there if you can get passed all the Moose.

Chasin this weekend... will be slope'd up Saturday AM at one locale, may dip for another Sunday, possibly Monday.

Persuasion or dissuasion for JH vs UT (snowbird, alta, or snowbasin) this weekend??? Looks like sun valley and BS will be lacking as usual...

How is JH on MLK wknd, with a storm nonetheless?

    Consistent snow forecasted...

    Pass for utah?

Same deal. A few inches this AM at BS. Can't really tell on JH cams what's going on. Looks warm and wet.

You skiing tomorrow b-bear? I'll be at the village with some friends from the EC.

Just did a quick pass lap. Quite a bit of snow up there but still not enough to cover up that crust. Gonna need a few more inches I think.

If you're still trying to decide between JH and Utah I'd stay up north. It's gonna be a giant shit show down there. Too much snow, too much wind and too many people. I've gotta head back for a thing on saturday otherwise I'd be staying up here.

Great day. A little heavy down low. Nice up high.

It should be pretty nice tomorrow.

    So it was.

    Djongo with the intel again.
    1st box.
We were the first two off and lapped soft runs all day.
+ a two long, mostly first-track laps that I would never have found.
