Well, East Tennessee and Western North Carolina got hammered over the weekend. My little ski hill got about 25" total at 5,500' elevation.

House in Tennessee got 12" of wet, heavy snow. Several restaurants and businesses lost tents and awning. Church collapsed. Auto parts place lost a roof.

Geared up the John Deer 245 lawn tractor with chains and the blade and spent the next four hours digging out the driveway. My driveway is about 300 yards long. Wish the tractor was 4WD, which would have made it much easier.

So we just moved in. Just trying to get settled and have not figured out what we will get yet. Might just hire someone to do the work this winter when needed. Oh and to answer someone’squeation earlier , no I do not have a truck already. [ATTACH=CONFIG]260834[/ATTACH

Mark up the edge of the driveable surface so you don't fuck yourself up one dark morning when your plow truck is kicking up dust.

    So cool.

It would be even cooler if the wood splitter was removable, it had a 3 point hitch, and the PTO was exposed for other implements: Generator, compressor, log winch, brush hog, rototiller, etc. Sure, you can get all of that in a tractor, however the Jeep platform has other potential for jobs not suited to a tractor. A small bed with equipment hauling space would still be useful.

Big Black rocked. However, since the theme is VT, you need to go with Black Hairy Tongue. https://www.last.fm/music/Black+Hairy+Tongue/+wiki

We had that last year when we had record snow fall for the season, plenty of back hoe operators with a dump truck hauling snow from sites and parking lots so the plows again had areas to push the snow...

Or if snow blower, then the chute could not through the snow up over the mound of snow...

450 hp of Cat power for the blower will make short work of any snow hassles.

Nothing as cool as your chained up plow truck pushing drifts, that's for sure.

4 chains make a ginormous difference. Pulled a stuck 18 wheeler through a snowbank last week. It was so awesome.

I used to chain up my old FJ55 and head up Buffalo Pass (Steamboat) after work and pull tourists out of snowbanks for $50+ a pop. Some nights I'd pull down close to $1k. Four wheel chains on that thing turned it into an absolute monster.

Snow Removal Advice for a Long Driveway in Vermont... Tractors, Snowblowers ect

I was camping in the Mary Jane parking lot last weekend and was up when this thing was clearing the lot. I was pretty impressed with how it handled snow. Click image for larger version.

I’ve been watching a lot of Japanese snow removal videos on YouTube. They are the absolute masters of getting rid of large amounts of snow in dense urban environments. They also have some cool equipment you don’t see in North America.
