Making the atomic Hawx XTD fit Marker Sole ID bindings?

I know the issue has been mentioned but has anyone made the two compatible? Marker states the binding is WTR compatible, the real world proves only some WTR boots work.

The Lange works, the Hawx XTD does not..

It seems itís just the toe thickness is the problem.

The problem is at the heel, not the toe, and the Hawx Ultra XTD is the only WTR exception I know of.

Too high? Toe router that takes it down to 25mm should do the trick, depending on how much you need to take off (at a certain point you will hit the tech inserts). Our techs told me the heel thickness wouldn't allow the heelpiece to latch correctly.

Height is good its the thickness in front of the AFD on the sole. Heels are fine, a symptom yes as the don't line up, but the problem is the toe isn't going forward in the binding enough so the heel wont go in with proper forward pressure.

A shop won't touch it, but if you're determined to make this combination work and have a belt sander . . .

It still fits within ISO9523 and now fits in the marker. At your own risk of course.

Nice. Grind your own fucking boots. So the orange rubber was hitting with the AFD all the way forward?

Yes. The rubber in front of the AFD on the Hawx XTD keeps it from stepping in on a Marker toe.basically the rubber is thicker than any other WTR boots.

Pretty much Marker-Atomic-Ski shops on this one:

Any chance you remember what angle you used? And how much in mm you shaved off?

    I have the same setup.
