Good songs you never want to hear again
Ok this is sort of a mash-up of the overrated celebrities & Wagon Wheel threads- which songs, even though they are good and even maybe great songs, would you be happy never hearing again because you've heard them too many times on the radio and from every cover band around?
Not talking bad songs- so no "Built This City" etc. Talking overplayed good songs here. Here's my top two (original band is in parentheses but I mean you never want to hear any version again by anyone).
Wagon Wheel (Old Crow) (of course)
The Weight (The Band)

Purple Haze. I love Jimi...but I could do without hearing that song...especially when there's so many other great ones.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

My gut tells me it's Toto Africa but my brain disagrees. Most Guns and Roses songs are on the list for me. I can't do Axl's voice for more than a minute anymore.

Good songs you never want to hear again
X a meeeeeelion
The 4-5 tracks they most commonly play by the major players on classic rock radio. The Who, Zeppelin, the Stones, VH, the Beatles etc have dozens of great songs yet we are subjected to the same few over and over and over
Beast of burden, Angie, Brown Sugar
Who are you, don’t get fooled again
Black dog, immigrant song, over the hills
Hey Jude, let it be, sgt peppers
Panama, running with the devil, hot for teacher, eruptionLast edited by Self Jupiter; 11-14-2018 at 04:27 PM.

Anything by Bon Jovi. Did their music not make it out to the PNW until 2005 or something? I grew up in North Jersey, and have heard more Bon Jovi on the radio in the 8 months I've lived in Western Washington that I heard cumulatively in my previous 29 years on this planet.
Actually, I feel like Bon Jovi belongs in an "Artists You Wish Would Have OD'd" thread, just not hearing their shit ever again isn't quite enough.

Amazed nobody brought this up
For those who argue whether it qualifies as "a good song" it was an American Music Award nominee

A bit obscure to the rest of the world, but any thing by Frazey Ford sets my teeth on edge. For an occasional listen, her contributions to the BGT, or her solo work is OK, but my time in the Nelson & Kaslo area, where her music was on almost every public speaker for several years, completely ruined her voice for me. With good friends at Arts Wells festival, relaxing between venues at camp, and he put FF on the bluetooth speakers. Our relationship took a serious hit.
