How do I get rid of a fancy piece of furniture? And not get hosed...

I have a very nice coffee table, hand carved, glass insert, very very nice. How do I sell it for what it is worth? I can sell crap on KSL and craigslist, but this is worth more than $50, and that doesn't strike me as the best way to get rid of a fancy piece of furniture. Any ideas? How do the fancy dentists get max dough when they change their furniture?

Maybe check with some local auction houses if they do that kind of thing? Around here, the auction houses will run certain kinds of sales, so if they're selling a bunch of furniture for an estate, you might be able to get your stuff put in as well. Never sold anything that way myself though, so no idea how the process really works.

Consignment at an antique dealer if old? Maybe with someplace more trendy otherwise? Lots of furniture places are open to this usually.

My GF has been buying high end stuff off of ebay and facebook marketplace in the last month, and also scans craigslist. She has also sold stuff via consignment stores.

if it's genuinely fancy try Park City instead (Right At Home, etc)... most of the SLC consignment places I've visited are not gonna be a great deal better than KSL for making the seller lots of money. or just list it on KSL for whatever your grand slam price is and only use your email address...

FB has a park city yard sale group. I sold my car there. Lots of furniture and other used stuff.

It's really only worth what someone will give you for it that day. Like all that stuff on "Antique Roadshow" - they assign dollar values to things and people get excited, but they aren't handing over any wads of dough to the people from what I've seen. That being said, try EBAY if you want to deal with shipping - largest audience. https://www.ebay.com/b/Tables/38204/bn_1637428.

You didn't mention it was a hockey table. The table it's sitting on looks nice, too.
