    Armistice Day 100

To all the veterans on this board, thank you for your service. Today was the 100th anniversary of the WW 1 armistice, which is now Veteran's Day in the US and Remembrance Day in Canada. I am reflecting on those who paid with their lives or had their lives altered through combat wounds.

I am humbled by people who risk their lives to protect the freedoms offered by this country. Thank you for your sacrifice. Much braver that I can ever hope to be.Name: Unknown.jpeg

If it wasn't for veterans we would not be free today. There are forces at work who dont like freedom, but we will prevail.

I took that pic of our local D Day vet ( "DDay, 2nd wave was worse than the 1st, I was wading through human soup." ) walking in front of the flag that was at half mast for McCain. He told me that after DDay (injured in day 3) he was the meanest MP in occupied Japan and then meanest Chicago cop in the 50's-60's. 20 years ago he'd walk miles every day. Every day. Now he stumbles/shuffles/staggers 1/4 mile every day. Every day. I thank this vet for stepping up when he was told to serve and I'm sorry that it has taken so long for him to get "home". He is in a good place now. But he still walks.
