Good value in iPad or equivalent?
My old iPad has shit the bed. I know nothing of current tablet offerings; what’s a good, cheap replacement? I don’t want a keyboard, so no Chromebooks. What does the collective recommend?

Costco has 128g 9.7" iPad for like $350 right now (after $50 off). Thinking about upgrading my mini.

iPads are usually discounted or on sale in 2 weeks (turkey day). the other tablet offerings suck, imo.

Another vote to just replace your old ipad with a new one. If your old one was your first, you may have a better idea of storage and peripheral needs, can downsize the new one and save a few bucks.

I just replaced my IPad mini with a Samsung Tab A. I despise the Mac IOS. Android is so much better. I don't know how you people live with I Phones. Ever since that man died, it's been downhill.

^^^ That’s an 8” though; the older I get the more screen I need. Or does it come in larger versions?

Micro Center has the 9.7 inch iPad 6 32g for $299. Think that price is in store only though. I've bought a few iPads from them over the years and it's worked out ok.
Check out Apple site for education discounts if applicable (student or teacher). Personally I hate Black Friday and Apple discounts are typically few and far between but it might be worth waiting to see if anything good pops up.Damn, we're in a tight spot!

Are you already in the i universe, i.e. iphone, itunes, icloud? If so stick with apple. Aside from expense, you can't really go wrong with their hardware.
Personally, I'm on the android bandwagon, but having a mixed device quiver would be a pain, and ultimately could cost more if you use many paid apps.

Found that ^^^ article; good to know. I'll stick with iPad; Samsungs are the same price for an equivalent screen, and I already have Apple apps on our phones.
Thanks all!

Just pulled trigger on ^ Black Friday deal at Best Buy for daughters. I would be surprised if the newest 128g version goes less than $329.
