Yeah we pulled into the lot on Tuesday and were expecting 10-15 minute waits based on the massive amount of cars. It was like 3 at the most. Just enough time to catch a breath. So many hoots and hollers and heckling and loving from the chair. So fkn good.

Old now but here is some crystal stoke from wednesday. Hard to mind looking like a beater when the snow is that good: https://youtu.be/Mu7VH1-X7rU

Dude, looks so great. Sounds like you climaxed more than once in 5 minutes - I would have done the same. Next time it snows 4' and I'm at Crystal, I'll be hitting you up!

We went in search of stable pow in the far reaches of WA. Unfortunately, the shuttle out of North Bend stopped short of our destination, had to hitch the rest of the way.

In order to keep postholing miscreants from following our skin track, we bush whacked through dense shrubbery for the first 1/4 mile, then broke out into open terrain with the sun peaking through.

Over the mountain and through the woods we went.

Dug a pit, found reasonable conditions. February has doubled the snow pack in this zone. Pretty impressive. Coverage is still thin on exposed zones, rocks were still found. We made some hippy turns on low angle terrain.

Unconsolidated conditions led us to some faces we have been eyeing for some time. It was fun.

You know its good when the wife says "Let's lap this", even though it was 3:30pm and we were miles from the road.

    Farming

Tired legs and fading light made for some interesting bushwhackery on the way out, which ended with us above a cliff over the road. Found a slot and otter slid down to the road into the snow berm. Good times.

Crystal was stupid good yesterday. Skied like a beater with some other beaters, stayed inbounds and had a blast. The snow was so good.

ID:	270378Im going to say that it’s as good as I’ve ever skied it. Probably the dozens who were there before me would beg to differ.

And found this nice old pup very stuck between the nordic center and the plow berm. PSA to not forget the deep snow buddy system with all your friends, especially ones w/out flotation and a bad old-wise ratio.

I just saw a thread on the NWHikers forum suggesting there are rumors that Vail plans to build a parking garage and possibly a hotel at Yodelin to serve Stevens Pass. It certainly wouldn't surprise me. See:

Just moved up to Seattle a few months ago, loving it so far. I'm that guy working in tech that helps keep Stevens crowded that you love to hate. Like others have said, Alpental backcountry was really nice last weekend, here's a cliff drop that doesn't seem to want to embed. Getting my shifts figured out finally.

Surprisingly stable conditions on the mellower terrain we skied Saturday. No snow noises breaking skin track either.
