Riding bikes on sloppy trails has a crazy amount of carryover to winter driving in terms of the handling principles involved.

I debated heavily, not sure I made the right call this morning...

hoping all the wet glop will get the hike to areas open soon.

Decided not to brave the neighborhood roads this morning and did a self-powered lap at Hyak instead. Avoided the rain but the turns were godawful heavy.

Wild, it's been balmy with hardly a breeze and only the occasional passing rain shower in North Bend all day.

I see 19 LB 1 OZ of pineapple, or are we assuming that the photographer is already a can deep and going back for seconds?

Oh, fuck me, it's 20 LB 1 OZ. I'm not even going to edit it, that's what I get for being pedantic. Heh.

Xtal did...NOT...sUcK today. Other than getting shafted out of an early chair on Rex, was still able to get great lines all over the mtn. That was some sort of magical elixir of snow up high. Would have liked to have stayed longer. But the job thing gets in the way.

We were lapping untracked powder like it was midweek mid-season. Like I told your neighbors, Mission will be consistently better than that other hill that I skied since about 1980. I think my exact words were “you can get more powder days at Mission in one season than you can at Stevens in a decade.”

    Yup, so g000d.

Clusterfuck in the morning on Chinook, lots of bombs, skied mostly frontside and GV, skipped waiting for 6.

But oh lawdee so fucking good, soft, soft, soft, hit lots of old stashes, powder hose to the face all day.

Hamburger skied great. People don't know how to put in the traverses right, so there was so much bottomless all over.

Actually my first season at Stevens was ‘78/79. Lost a ski pole near where that monoboarder lost his entire shit. Hogsback went in the following season. Skied with Neil and his new skis last Friday. Neil kills it. Or maybe I’m getting old.

"Tornado touchdown in my hood, EF1 or EF2" Yeah, close to us too. The temp dropped by degrees right after that rolled through....feels like a ski day shapin up.

The Doors were slamming. Chair 6 was stupendous. Managed to hook up and get in line as they loaded up. Seems like everyone I rode the chairs with was their first day out. Tomorrow would be a good day to get after the leftovers, and maybe pick up some crumbs from whatever accumulation falls by tomorrow.
