Couple minutes ago I looked at the M.R. cams. Mid mountain is maybe 5 -6" of slushy looking stuff but there were 2 BC skiers walking uphill in the background. If it cools like they say, soon will turn to something icy but if they get some dumpage, who knows? Baker is starting off from bare ground but sounds like some decent snowfall on the way. A friend hopped off a rock early season up there and busted a ski completely in half....landing on the next one that was just buried enough to "look good". Be cautious & seek out meadows / cleaner runs.

GwynWAC is reporting a foot on the ground at Heather Meadows. That's nowhere near enough to cover the rough terrain but probably enough to XC ski the road. If you believe the NWAC telemetry, there's about 10" at pass level at the #2 resort. Webcam imagery shows a pretty good dump going down at Crystal right now and amazingly enough, the road to Paradise is open without restrictions but that's likely to change tonight.

If you need me, I'll be at home shoveling the rain off my deck

Stevens looks to have a foot+ right now. Likely gone in less than a week. Flying home for the weekend and hoping to get up to Muir on Sunday.

How awesome is Xanadu, right? Some of the best singletrack in the state I think...

    FIFY.

Still looking forward to a west side riding rendezvous with you!
Common sense. So rare today in America it's almost like having a superpower.

The beauty is that it doesn’t take much. Especially with a little wind.

Can i get a Rubble Report?

Anyone have any beta on the muir recently? Like how low the skiable snow goes, crevase/snowbridge situations etc. Thinking about skipping a day of work to frolic with the other powder techs up there but only ever been during the late spring when everything is fully in.

It was pretty great. Very picturesque! I wish we had had time to check out Tres Hombres as well, but I guess I'll be back soon.

OK.. maybe not the best, but amazing views, and single-track that has everything,, rocky technical stuff, giant granite rolls, flowy flowy banked and bermed awesomeness... Tres amigos (?) over on that side of the mountains is just as spectacular...

    From the website copy:
We also found it important to include our iconic three summits and neighboring Mount Rainier through the playful interplay of ridges and peaks.
    They couldn’t resist

    ^ Well played.

But seriously it's great that they recruited a middle-schooler to do their website makeover. The app remaining all old school is real touch of professionalism too.

Could put the umbrella-ized logo over the shoulder of some Mary Poppins type character. Or maybe a deadbird-clad powtech dweeb striding across the heated patio, walk modes pinching pant cuffs, DPS askew under the other arm, and a cheerfully ignorant gaze from behind half-fogged spectacles
