I called Crustal customer serviceS and they said it was all determined by Snowboarder/Oakley to allow 19/20 Ikon passholders and a LIMITED NUMBER of $40 viewer tickets, but founders are not allowed.

Ah for the good old days when they claimed they had to shut because of elk calving.

When do they get to determine who gets access to public lands?

If they weren't having this event there'd be no equipment on mountain that's for damn sure.

It's not like they could rope off the stunt ditches and keep the hoi polloi out that way. They need lessons from the Medicis.

Thanks Z, you have probably skied this slope before - those are Fisher and Black Peak in the background.

Anybody ski Saturday? I skied the rock hard windy/snowy conditions at the pass. Also wondering if anybody was up there Sunday and how it was.

Kangaroo was firm when we skied it at ~2 pm yesterday. Breezy and cool with broken clouds most of the day.

What do you want to know? Last I heard a few days ago, roads are still snow covered 3-4 miles from the S climb TH.

Edit: FS status says parking is 6 mi from the TH https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/giff...a/?recid=31934

Anyone have a photos of Stuart/Enchantments area? Wondering about Cascadian/Ulrich's, Cannon Mtn, Cashmere. Basically want to do Stuart this weekend if it isn't going to totally suck, but if it does I would rather do something from Icicle Creek.

Thread on TAY from a recent Stu trip. Dude posts here, too, iirc and might chime in. Melted out a few hundred feet above the creek, both sides.

I would not bother with Cannon, the exit is going to suck. Cascadianmegaflora schwack. The exit on it is full jungle these days with lots of blow downs. Need another fire to clean it up!

Per USFS Mountaineers Creek gate won't open until all snow is gone and permits are being issued. Too many people getting stuck/trashing the roads in years past. So if you want to do anything from the Icicle side, bring a bike. It's melted to 8 mile TH as of a week ago.

I heard you could get to Long's pass as of last weekend. If you want to do any of the South side routes on Stuart nows the time to do it, it's warm and stuff is going fast.

Thanks Norse and LVS, turns out I know kamtron from TAY so got some more Stuart info. Good info also on the Cannon jungle; sorry to hear about that! Have always wanted to do CMC but can never get to it when it's stable and snowy.

It’s been pretty bad schwack for a while, gotta time it when it’s fat in the valley.

But don’t let me stand in the way of a good time 3D hiking amongst slide alder

You know, satellite images make it look pretty snowy right now. Maybe the image is just washed out. Should probably go have a look eh?

Edit: surely Cannon NWF is fat and prime as well, a nice chill outing with no rappels

Early June might even be too early. Definitely not too late though.

FS Updates the road status pretty reliably online.
