Upper mountain at Crystal was pretty solid this morning. Got 3 good laps in campbell almost right after 6 opened before a crash cut my day a bit short. Wind was pretty non-existent on that side of the mountain surprisingly. I'll take it considering it's April 7th!

Crustal top 500 vert had good snow, eroding by the vertical foot into wrench potatoes by 5500.

Still had fun, everything from total milk soup vis to bluebee electric sky. Groomer honking was good by 1:00.

South actually opened around 2:30. Rode chair 6 with a patroller when he got the radio announcement. Didn’t get the impression the snow was great but he said they wanted the skier compaction.

Same - although looking back up that way right after it opened, seemed like it clouded over to ping pong ball real quick.

Buster, pleasure to meet you and share a chair out north.

The hike was a bit disorienting, yeah... we caught a little window of light up top that made the descent much better. It ran really nice up there, much better than I expected! DFF was a soup though. Wish I'd run into you all!

really a bummer that summit has no more midweek lifts
felt like they went from limited to none within one week
    Thinking Thursday.
Of course, let me know when is good for you and I'll try to make it.

Sure would be nice if the Summit opened Alpental weekdays since nothing else is holding snow up at Snoqualmie.

    Agree...
The roll back this year started early and sets an unfortunate precedent (in my view) for the new management regime. Lots of taking away so far.

For sure, anyone that feels like their season has been cut short should speak up.
This includes anyone that would be skiing the padded seats post their own hill closing.

    Hey all

We are coming down fror some Easter weekend touring. We were eyeing Baker via Coleman glacier. Will the fsr be accessible?

I am familiar with the touring out heather meadows, but we are looking for an actual summit or bigger tour that weekend. If the road isn't open, what are some suggestions on overnighters or bigger tours?

    Thanks!

Heavy pow up high, guanch midway on down.
Punched in the throne traverse on 6th chair, got a couple of fresh rips down Throne Bowl.

Best early, warm spell came up around 10:30. Gluey by 1:30.

Still sounds awesome. Had a good time at Stevens but was dreaming about how fun Chair 6 could be at Xtal. Glad you got some of the goods!

At about 1:00, I was skiing down to the bottom to have lunch and hit the glue line going mach snell. Double eject to scorpion to tomahawk. Total yard sale. I limped to my car, ate lunch and waited for the rain to stop. It didn't, so I headed home at 2:00.

All in all, it was a pretty fun day. Everything was soft, including the avy debris.

Found an iPhone today at Crystal. Still powered up and working when I found it. Let me know if you know who it might belong to.

Went for a tour behind Crystal yesterday, you guys have lots of terrain in those basins... fun hot pow back there. Didn’t get to ski what we wanted because it got too warm but still had a blast. Skiing the lifts today if anybody wants to meet up. Purple jacket, blue pants, BGs. Snow falling at the base right now!

Baker delivered yesterday with no one there. This morning was unreal but turned into slop and half rain around 11. Crazy good for this late in the season though.

Dusk patrolled the 'yakyard today and scored on the second coming of corn o'clock. Untracked creamed corn all the way down the back forced me into taking a second lap and skiing home by headlamp

Yesterdays thaw made for some loud turns today on the upper mountain at Crustal. Viz on the top was thicc.

The mid to lower mountain skied great with fast trenching corn. Top to bottoms rages were the r00l.

Might not be the appropriate thread for this but I dont think it merits its own thread either...

Wanted to give a shoutout to Brandon at Evo Seattle for handling a boot issue i had to deal with. I got fitted for and purchased a pair of Atomic Hawx Ultra 120’s back in February, and after skiing them a few days, I determined that the fitter put me in a shell one size too big. I went into Evo expected to have to beg and plea to get them to let me swap for another size, but Brandon was totally cool with it, and even transferred the correct boot in from their portland location for me. After the new boot came in, he did a complete re-fit for me on the new boot at no extra cost to me. To make it even better, the new boot was on sale due to it being the end of the season, so I actually got a refund back as part of the exchange. Brandon was awesome throughout the process, and I would recommend him to anyone in the Seattle area looking to get boot work done.
