Great low angle skiing to be had at Hurricane Ridge on Sunday. Apparently Saturday was much better, but I'm not going to get picky

I’ve got a long weekend trip at Stevens planned in early March. Other than their early ticket prices from the official website, where can a poor man get discount tickets? Any grocery stores or gear shops give out discount tickets/coupons? Either I suck at searching or this hasn’t been asked since they changed their website and got off the discount website a couple years ago.

Buy a vail employee a beer or two an get an employee voucher. Seems to be the only way to get a discount at a vail resort these days.

Generally how accurate is snow-forecast.com? They have the windy hill getting dumped on next Saturday.

Commuting conditions were all time yesterday evening and this morning. I will take empty ice-packed roads over the typical melange of pencil-dicked white trash in lifted trucks and H1B'ers in summer-tire clad sedans every day and twice on Sunday.

The weather models seem to be converging on the next system dropping in from Canada Friday or Saturday. We know it's going to stay cold, so I guess the question is how much moisture this system will bring. I'd say chances are good but it could be like yesterday where the lowlands get as much or more snow than the mountains.

if we get a SW flow event with cold wind coming from the NE it could be good. This far out is hard to tell, I don't really count any forecast until a couple days out.

In general, I find that site to be very optimistic, but considering we got 6-9" in in the last 36 hours out of .36" of liquid and it's getting colder... I could imagine some decent numbers Fri-Sat if the precipitable water is available.

Snow level aI zero for most of the forecast as well. I think Wenatchee is at about 1000’ or so. Hopefully we don’t get that much. When there is precipitatable water it pours?

There appears to be a glitch in the matrix.

The chart in Cliff Mass' blog shows a decent hit of snow, but a whole lot less optimistic than snow-forecast:

If beardmech was still around we could find out what the weather channel was saying about it.

    Yeah what happened to him?

Wedged in a crevasse? Shipped back to the South?

Seemed like a genuine dude despite the massive gape.
