Boston Globe reporting it was a mob hit. Jezuz, he was 89. Who is still alive that holds a grudge?

I love it, on the day he was transferred too. Not for nothing but the FBI is launching an investigation into how and who killed him. Haven't we pissed away enough fed dollars on this prick? It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. It is kind of amazing anyone still cared enough to kill him but can't say he didn't have it coming.

When we were kids he had a kind of Robin Hood rep, what a crock of shit that was.

Never met whitey personally but plenty of friends knew him too well. Broke bread with his kid brother plenty of times and they are two peas in a pod.

Hes got a lot of grandkids to feed so that UMass pension is maxed out. He would call and demand it if it was a day late.

Why do I have the feeling a guard looked the other way?

Depp's portrayal of him was really good. He did a "you think I'm funny?" type of thing, but even scarier.
    No longer stuck.

There are a lot of children of Whitey & the Winter Mob murder victims around who would want to have him whacked. At least he survived to see another Red Sox world series win....

He just happened to run into a notorious hitman from Massachusetts, who hated rats. Hes the guy who killed, Big Al Bruno. Springfield Mass mob boss. Only to have his boss, flip and testify against him. Apparently this guy is old school, no bs.
How did whitey end up next to this animal on his first night? Crazy story.

Right? Almost makes a feller long for the bad ole days when, in my romanticized view, most folks had a better understanding of their role in the food chain.

Yeah "honorable" isn't a word that jumps to mind for any of these guys. Honorable my ass.
