    LeaLau/Norton/Gram,

Do any of you use a WeWork/Regus set up or do you work from home? I have access to a hot desk in Van and I'm weighting the added cost of a second bedroom to serve as an office, vs the cost of a Regus locked office. Any experience?

I'm a downtown Vancouver office drone so can't help there. One of my friend's co uses WeWork and has had good things to say about the Bentall location. I know Lee was bigly bullish on the failed WeWork IPO so he will be biased .

Closer to the slopes, the better. Then figure out where your device works.

Looking for parking for my truck/sled for this winter, tried the places I have used before and everything is full up this year. Also phoned the various strata management companies in case any place had open spots, no luck with that. Anyone have a lead for me?

Whistler's Turkey sale turns out to be just a big promo for all the stores,
with sale prices identical to what was being shucked in May end of season.

And hats off to Ark Tear X.
That team manages to sell $400 jackets (competitor valuation) for $800 in the regular season,
and then find sucklers to pay
    $400 at the Turkey sale
for what amounts to taped and seam sealed
    petro chemicals
    with almost non-styling.

    My apologies to any fashionistas
that think that spending lots of money on
    breeeatheeable shells
    will make them better breathers
    , skiers,
    or teach them avalanche skills.

    Happy Thanksgiving.
We all got lots to be thankful for.

    Once Upon A Time
    The Turkey Sale
    Was people buying pre-loved/exprienced/second-hand stuff
    at great prices
    and a COMMUNITY EVENT.

There are other temp work-sharing spaces that don't require commitments like Regus, no?
At least at home, you get to write off a portion of your space (mortgage/interest/utilities/internet/etc).
I think that is at least one advantage over a paid space.
But then, you won't meet other cute entrepreneurs and lunch with good company.

You can only claim business-use-of-home expenses if your home is your principal place of business, or you use a workspace in your home solely to earn your business income and use it regularly to meet with clients, customers, or patients. That means that you cannot claim business-use-of-home expenses if you are also conducting business elsewhere or because you sometimes work on business matters at home.

I appreciate such wisdom from someone who spent so much time and money insisting carbon fiber was a better brake rotor material for bikes. Before nuking the thread and going back. Hope much did those cost?

Unfortunately there is no way to buy shares in Amer Sports since they have been delisted.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/press-rele...e-been-deliste

    They are certainly profitable,
and with 9,000 staff worldwide, with years to come and advances enabling retrenchment,
this is going to lay the golden egg
    every day.

There is always ANTA if you can stomach that the price has already shot up appreciably.

    Not sure about ANTA:

Also heard they were long on MTB carbon rotors. Risky position.

    Arc’teryx is great though.

Sad. Vibes. We saw the chopper pulling in that day and wondered why. Guess that was it.

    Another biking related:

A Colorado man died on a popular mountain bike trail near Wedgemount on Sunday, Oct. 27, police have confirmed. At about 3:30 p.m., Whistler RCMP, alongside Whistler Search and Rescue (WSAR) and Emergency Health Services, responded to a call of a male suffering cardiac arrest on the Comfortably Numb trail, near the Wedgemount Forest Service Road.

Surprisingly, except for the big dump last September (I left for CA), every fall for the last number of years have been excellent riding right up to Nov 1 and then like a switch winter turns on.

Dunno if this got resolved for you, but theres nothing proper in the village AFAIK. Maybe in Function but at that point you're probably better off just WFH. There are places like 81 Meeting Place, but it's also a cafe so not a private work space. If you need to actually meet clients etc and can't do it at a coffee place there is also the Mountain Club. Kind of overlooked, it also gives you a parking space, ski locker, hot tub access for about 2K a year or 200ish a month if you just want winter. Its super nice, free coffee, generally very quiet and has closeable private meeting rooms. I did a bunch of consulting work for a retail store here and the owner had a membership there. 10/10 wish i could afford
