Or you could save yourself some sleep, stop slaughtering animals, and BUY A FUCKING DONKEY.
Ranchers who complain that wolves and coyotes are pests while the ranchers themselves stole "their" land from "injuns" while playing cowboy grazing their cowboy cattle on public lands should be shot with a tranquilizer and relocated to a more suitable environment...like New York city. If they fail to learn to stay away from ranches and wildlife, then lethal deterants may be used.
Shoot, shovel, and shut up should only be applied, literally, to "ranchers".Last edited by reckless toboggan; 10-25-2018 at 05:52 AM.

Oh good idea, a donkey. How come nobody told them that would solve the coyote problem. So easy.

IIRC Rev Floater had (has?) a guard llama for his livestock. Named it Janet Reno.
We can hear a pack of ‘yotes singing late at night from our back porch. Kinda cool.

Sounds nuts, but it's true. Donkeys will tear a coyote up! I've heard Llamas are great for protection too. With a donkey/llama in the mix, the predators learn pretty quickly that this is not a flock/herd to be messed with.
Speaking of which, didn't KQ acquire a donkey not that long ago? I wonder how that's been working out.

I think I'd rather be shot than eaten by a donkey.

Read about a guy hiking up this way whose dog got into poisoned meat and killed the dog. Hard story to read because the dog died right there in his arms. Shot the damn coyote if you have to, but don't put poisoned meat out.

There is a difference between killing to protect livestock, and killing for sport. This seems to close to the second for my taste.
That said, I've shot a few coyotes and wild dogs who have gotten into my family's herds and won't hesitate to do so. We run 1,000 feeder lambs each year, and have few Great Pyrenees that run with them, but sometimes they need a little help.

Yea that's pretty fucked up. Have you heard of M44 Cyanide traps? Also fucked up shit. Thankfully they don't use them as much as they use to but still out there. Back in the '90's I use to chukar hunt a lot in the deserts of Utah and never heard of M44's. Then I heard about a guy who's hunting dog was killed by one. Come to find out the trappers are supposed to put warning signs up in areas where they are being used. I finally found one of these so called warning signs. A piece of paper stapled to a fence post next to the road. I must have driven past tons of those warning signs over the years. So a heads up, if you're ever out in the deserts of the west and see a piece a paper on a fence post, stop and read it.
Bullshit story here.

Yep typical government BS. Poor kid but he's alive.
In all my years bird hunting I only have had one dog get caught in a trap. Thank god it wasn't an M44.
Trying to release a 100 lb. pissed off lab from a leg hold trap is something I don't ever wanna do again. Total fucking goat rodeo.Hunting kicks ass.
