    Iceland/Ireland recommendations for early May

On a family trip first week or two of May. Should be able to steal away for at least a day of fishing in both Iceland (South coast near hot springs and national parks) and Ireland (doing a loop dublin-galway-south coast). Preference for salmonids in rivers, but I'm a total noob in terms of what early May means for sea run schedules. Will be unguided for frugality.

    Ideas? Research tips?

Atlantics are not cheap in either country. Best bet might be lake fishing for browns.

If you fly Icelandic Airways, layovers in Iceland are free. That is, no charge for the stop and stay.

Yeah, that's part of the reason for Iceland - family visiting Ireland, wife and I tacking on some days for Iceland. Currently investigating licenses for sea run trouts.
