Self-servicing a CC DB Inline shock?
So my shock definitely needs to be sent in for service. Almost 2 full seasons on it. I seems "dry". It is now extra bouncy on high speed rough stuff. I played with compression a bit and it helped a little, but I feels like it needs oil. I know you aren't supposed to service these yourself, but is there anything I can do just to limp it along for another month until it's actually winter?

Overtighten all your pivots to fine tune the friction damping.

Just curiously, is the service for this shock really $160?

You're lucky, most in lines don't last a season without shitting the bed.
Must send away for any service.

Self-servicing a CC DB Inline shock?
I thought they fixed the issue with them. Not sure. I think your best bet would be to contact “vorsprung” in whistler. He’s a wizard and is responsible for a lot of shock tech that fox and rock show and others have incorporated in their designs(I think Sam Hills rock shox last year ‘17 has vorsprung bits front and back amongst other pros). I seem to remember him diagnosing the problem with the inlines and possible having a fix for them . Cane creek coil shocks can be tuned quite well with all their adjustments. That’d be a nice shock for a while if vorsprung has a fix for it. I follow vorsprung onnboth Facebook and IG and I think I remember something on those shocks
