K received another 3" last night. Today should be another fun day. Wish I could ski it but I'm on the bench for a while after crashing into a boulder at Heavenly earlier this week.
PS Vt-free, good find on the SOS. MNIAW and I found a six pack of Buds on upper Cascade one late spring day. Looks like they had been planted a long time before and enough snow had melted to reveal them. We drank them. They didn't skunk.

Shoulder Broulder?... sorry, I could not resist. Heal fast, man.
Sorry to miss you, too VTF. Just never thought you'd venture below the Vermont/New Jersey border. Killington was a good choice, tho. And I'm glad you found that can of SOS we left for you...Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!

Yesterday's storm produced less snow than expected, but the result was way better than dust on crust. The Waterfall Link skied very nicely on our way to check out the waterfall. The top was blown out so we demurred, chosing to exit via the old alleyway.
Good turns found throughout The Zone. Yet another end-of-day glade explored. Twig stoke:

^Rob making sloppy thirds look nice and soft! Fun day yesterday, Rob. I enjoyed the exploring, as did Chris.
The snow skied way better than I feared it would on the way up. But it was definitely one of those situations where, on the steeper and narrower lines, skier #1 really got the goods, skier #2 had decent conditions if he braided #1's tracks, and #3 was left with quite a bit of scratch to navigate.
Some more pics:
A little lost in the upper heights of the WMNF. I enjoyed the hell out of this shwack. Connected a lot of dots for me...
More twigs. And Chris enjoying soft seconds.
A little bit of air...
Yours truly. No that is not a 9' ski pole.
The morning's skin track almost filled back in. Lousy pic, but it was nice to see in person.
Low hanging fruit. There was no competition for fresh lines in this natural glade.

$14 Chopped Powder skiing great at the bush.
Sunny and pleasant with a Peasant King at Walts.

lovin the stoke in here bros!
if you're up that way, Grand Fond is worth checking out. About an hour farther north and west. Way more chill than le massif and the scenery along the way alone is worth the drive. They seem to usually get dumped on pretty hard whenever it snows up there.Last edited by danmelon; 02-14-2019 at 02:04 PM.

Early morning lift snafus at Pico today but the skiing did not suck...
Powday line forms at the Golden...wait and wait....apparently this isn't working...... Golden crowd dashes to the B chair, only a few loads in, it stops and we're informed this is going to take a long time....Powday line then dashes back to the Golden....another long wait.....then lo and behold, the B chair is loading....Powday line dashes back to the B chair....
At least the chair to the summit was running and loading when we got there...
Sorry we missed you Weds VTF...

I just wouldn't want you to cross this fringe group of "glisseurs" ( their word, not mine) unaware of their cunning. They will inexplicably ban you from ever setting boots in Chamonix (the Mecca) if slighted through a strange mix of subterfuge and bizarre coincidence. Avert your eyes if ever in the true presence... they feed on attention. Plake barely escaped and took months to "reprogram".

Haha ^
Train, would have been fun, I have another Nokian voucher to burn, lets ski. Also have done that lift shuttle when the bush had their deferred maintenance mega lift trouble 4 or 5 years ago.
Good to get a day in at the bush, 2nd lift access in 2 years and it almost felt fresh. Middle Earth was pleasant with only a handful of people skiing this pod early
After a bunch of southside runs we headed to snorth on the long lift, was such a great viewing day.
Beers at the roadside dive that is Walts. Deck fell off earlier this winter due to rot and the bathrooms are like that filthy gas station you stopped at 15 years ago in South Carolina. Fiddlehead and Peasant King made up for that
Busy Saturday lot fill, but only a 3-4 minute wait at Bravo, GH and virtual ski on elsewhere.
This Kook came way too close following a flailing octopus air move and way off balance landing. Found him in the corral shopping for a seat instead of hitting the singles line, we snagged a double at the merge to avoid a ride up with him.
Interesting headgear, I think he was from Quebec
Went to Lawsons and Mehurons to stock up for the weekend and avoid the crowds. It's going to be crazy!www.apriliaforum.com
