Waffles were nice last time I skied at K-mart but I've not been to Okemo since 1968

Stop it. Everyone knows skis weren't invented until 1971.

    Nostalgia Tour is on!

Haven’t been here since about 1977, the whole area looks the same but sure has changed. Skier traffic has been super low for years, this place used to have cars parked down the road in the 50’s - 70’s.

Picked up a book about the history of Snow Ridge that is super cool. The stoke level in the old days was unbelievable. Love the pictures of old cars with skis on top.

The Ridge gets the goods. The book I got has snow totals for most years going back into the 50's, high mark was 374 and low as 67, average is about 180

On a knee high day, do you need to shuffle and pole the whole way down?

Only been twice, but both days had knee deep - T-bar doesn't open midweek AFAIK, so it's fresh the weekend after a storm. No need to pole if you take 14 turns instead of the 22 you normally get in a run. Was a little bummed at how busy it got on President's Saturday... in the base area... at 3 p.m. when the snowmobile racers started showing up.

Thanks to MaineSkiaddict1 for the bogo at Jay yesterday. All glades open with 4 to 6 of fresh! And so few people. Love the "miso hungry" shed. Me love you long time!
Jay is amazing. They claim a season total of 370 so far. Stowe 274. Cannon 158. Is that right? Such a huge delta.

Burke was fun Saturday. Free lift tickets if you dressed up as a leprechaun which I did. Bar is one of the best in the NE. Real wood fire. Real dogs. Really icy skiing after the freeze thaw.

Cannon corduroy was super grippy under the sun today.

    Happy March.

Think I’ll take the snow tires off this week. Maybe even wash the car. Thursday and Friday look like a good time to do so.

I'm expecting a huge sap run.

I know over on da coast you probably don't need them but when you get real snow like we do up here they come in handy so zip it flatlander.

Marginal is an understatement. Most sugarmakers I know have only had one run so far. Probably going to be a short season once it finally gets going.
