Raining here now. Looks like fat biking is in the cards tomorrow considering resort crowds plus thaw, rain, freeze overnight.

I saw the Fleur de Lys and la Québécoise buses heading back this afternoon. My monies would spend well up there. BMOM might be a good call as well as SB.

Back to 32` now and we got 5/8" of soggy wet snow as well. Cleaned the rigs off so I don't have to chisel tomorrow.

^^^. Hey there take it easy. Your mom jokes are offensive to some. You’re treading on thin ice here...

Almost 45 and some heavy rain showers this afternoon/ evening here in the gateway to the greens.

At nine p.m. tonight in Bethel, the driveway was glazed and the rain drops on the truck had turned solid. Minimal rain quantity, I think most of the precip fell earlier as snow (enough that the plow guy showed up). I'm guessing it could go either way for tomorrow but things might get scratchy as the temps drop into the week.

Heading up to Orford tomorrow for the beginning of the holiday week. Kids will be in lessons at least part of each day so I'll have some time to myself. Anybody up that way this week?

    Nice work Laps.

Another ride, rinse, repeat day. Just enough overnight to cover yesterday's tracks for yet another clean canvas morning.

Fun one run outing today, although the dust on crust being thin in spots in the notch made for some sporty ascending. Much more fun coming down...

Chargering around today we were reminded of a lesson: deep snow does not make all the nasties go away. Skiing on a slope that we have maintained diligently for almost 10 years, a hidden hazard tripped up my buddy in the middle of a stellar run. My theory is that a pungi stick must have come down in an early winter storm and frozen in place, eventually getting buried by the ridiculous amount of snow here in the Hinterlands. It is an area we clear quite diligently every fall.

The fall was spectacular and the amazing iPhone 8 captured the action sequence:

Very true and we had that discussion afterwards. When we ski in more remote, twiggy places, we wear helmets. When we ski well maintained, mellow, short glades like this one, we don't. Perhaps we should reconsider that. Let's not start the helmet choice debate.
