Good eye. Those are in the bowl east of Abol slide, off of Baxter Peak proper, but not quite into the Avalanche Brook drainage.

Hopefully the park will share some of the areal shots they got of Great Basin on Saturday. There is still a ton of snow up there.

Pretty much, I stopped at 4:40 after a couple of crashes chasing The Hatter who showed up fresh at 3.

^^I've got some of those crashes on the video tape. Probably have enough now for a blooper reel.

That is tempting...it sure does look fun over there...painful, but fun. I cannot imagine it on a board FD! You crazy! Early groom corny slush ftw!

Early(ish) is the plan. About the only thing I've mastered on a board (outside of biffing with little to no grace) is the ability to skirt the bumps on the far edges. When those slivers are no longer an option and the bumps are vw sized you can find me in the lot excelling at less athletic endeavors.

Once the mountain is open to hiking, and they always open the west side first, that stuff is free game. On many yak trips on the West Branch during Memorial weekend, I never saw it look that good.

    Let's party!

    SNOW REPORTER'S UPDATE

This weekend will be our final days of skiing and riding for the 2018/19 winter season – the longest ski and ride season in Eastern North America. Thanks to the hard work from our snowmakers early season, grooming team (especially these last few weeks) and the entire mountain operations team all season long, we’ve been able to pull off another beastly winter season here at Killington!

Superstar Express Quad will spin 9am-5pm Friday, May 31 and 8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2. Lift tickets will be $30* for all ages each day.

Complimentary commemorative t-shirts will be available to the first 500 guests to load Superstar Express on June 1, and the Roaring Brook Umbrella Bar will feature live music by DJ Dave, free Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream for about 500 people starting at 3pm and an outdoor grill.

Once again, we’re offering up the Beast365 Trial Ticket this weekend giving you access to skiing and riding, biking, golfing and the adventure center for the entire weekend for $102 or less. Guests can then choose to upgrade their trial ticket to the full Beast 365 Pass, which provides unlimited access to the best of Killington all year round. The Beast 365 Pass and other 2019/20 season passes are on sale through June 13.

Thanks to Brian Hughes for the great grooming these past few weeks.

Looks like a wicked party! I'll likely head up north for MSS laps, but kind of itching to make the long drive south (i love a free t-shirt!).

Straw and Fuss worrying about bumps. This woman rips all winter, all day and is there all spring as well.
Maybe you guys need stiffer boots?

Sideways sliding the VW bumps = reward for a good season. Get up top, rocker is your friend. 1-2 laps and then power-drinking. Spring rules.

PSA by GBA and Mount Washington Avalanche Center:
Help preserve alpine vegetation: If you use the Mt. Washington Auto Road to access backcountry ski terrain this spring, please realize that you are heading up to one of the most fragile alpine areas on the east coast. You can help preserve this unique habitat by how you park your vehicle and how you access the ski routes.

Please park only in the recognized parking lots and not along the sides of the road. If the smaller parking areas near the top are full, you should continue to the summit parking lots.

Help protect the fragile plants of the alpine zone landscape. Stay on a trail or step carefully from rock to rock, avoiding any plants, shrubs or grasses.

    Thank you!
The sad truth is that whine does not age well
