There was a little hiccup at the Sun Mountain this morning when the detachable quad had a malfunction requiring Patrol to have to complete a lift evac. Luckily I didn't show up until lunchtime and missed the fun. Also lucky that there were fewer customers than lifties at the mountain so the evac. went quickly.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Okay, so with luck on our side we'll be able to ski Jay, Mad River, and Bolton.

    - Jay will be a day trip. The SO loves that place, and she really wants to go back there.
    - Mad River is a place I've wanted to check out for some time.
    - Bolton is super close to her childhood home, so that's an inevitability.

Will be in Stowe for a day or two, but the most skiing we'll have time for is Nordic.

Thoughts? Definitely want to experience more but it seems like a nice taste of NE skiing. There is a chance we could swing a detour somewhere driving to-and-from Portland, but we will see.

Decided to give this skinning thing another try. 5:30 start was a bit dark. Made it to the top, but it was ugly.

    Thick by today’s “woods” standard.

The post left a bad taste in my mouth. Not that I care either way. Never been to MRG.

They were attempting a viral marketing strategy and came off looking more like a bully pointing and laughing at the kid who eats worms.

No. Boards are not allowed on the lift. But boarders are welcomed on the Hill. It is safety issue on the single - boarders often caused the chair to derail.

While I've always dug the place, this is the kind of shit that will make me never want to go back. The god damn local taco place did this when they first opened up over a year ago and I still resent it when my buddies want to go there.

    Piss poor.

I won't shed a tear when the place goes NELSAP, which I'm convinced will happen in the next 10yrs..adapt or die in the new world order.
