I was sorry to have missed the big party last week, but luckily, it was an amazing day at KMart yesterday. Was great to get out one last time and share in the goodness with a solid group of core mags and long time K Zone skiers.
Even met some new mags (hello GIS and Mr. Moose) and finally got to ski with Buttakflake... who definitely knows how to get down the hill. Also great to see Biggins, Buckethead, EarlyTrain, Snowsprite and VTSki, but somehow, we kept missing each other on the hill?! And thanks to Mark and Cindy for hosting and who staked out the premier party spot. Chester had a great day, too and I gotta say, the whole vibe at Killington has been amazing all winter. For such a big place, they somehow keep it feeling real. Looks like another few days left, so get it while you can!
Buttah channeling his inner Eddie Ferguson...
Goniff taking it to the edge, where few dare follow...
VT-F focused and on fire...
Screw the net, Surf the backcountry!

NE Roll Call 18/19
What a day! Glad to ski with such a fun crew. Y’all know how to party. Kzoners are a great bunch of folks. Great fun skiing with Big Daddy and EarlyTrain. Love skiing with Vtfree and Goniff. Goniff is the MVP of spring. Can’t say enough good things about that guy. Biggins always makes me laugh, that dude is funny as hell and shreds hard. Vtfree was upping his game every lap! Guy rips, he just does. We missed having Peruvian and mniaw around. I’ll be back for more tomorrow!

Edit: Introduced the wife to the Redford/Hackman masterpiece 'Downhill Racer' last night. I forgot Dabney Coleman was the young asst. coach. That movie is the absolute shit.Last edited by biggins; 05-26-2019 at 01:22 PM.

Have always loved that movie. Skiing aside, I think it's a great flick, but every skier should watch it.
Had really wanted to be up there yesterday but between a bad head cold and some other shit happening it just wasn't possible. At this point it will have to wait for next year for me, although I may still have some CO turns in my future this year.[quote][//quote]

No chance to get out of driving the boat... Big Boss Man is in town and Memorial Day is the kickoff of the social season for the 1% in DownEast Maine. Summer people, some are not. Lunch cruise with Prosecco and cheese plates for me today. Who says trickle down economics doesn't work!?
I've got no problem with you Train... my skin is thick and leathery from all the sun.

NE Roll Call 18/19
As good as Saturday was, today was better. Best it’s been in weeks actually. They pushed a metric shit-ton of snow onto Preston’s, it made all the difference. It was pretty much leftover World Cup yellow ice, with random bumps, ugly. They buried it last night, first runs were 30mph GS turns through 5” of fast corn, so much fun. And all that snow turned into nice tight, soft and round bumps.
What a great scene up there again, VTfree, Goniff, GiS, and all the KZoners. Great folks to ski and party with! Worked on hands today and pulling my feet back after impact, huge difference in speed control. I always forget how much I love slush bumps. Can’t wait for next weekend, lift served turns in June!

The snowfields did not disappoint today. We got a few laps in before heading to bail so as to be responsible adults this afternoon, but the morning was beautiful.
