Damn. Lots of nice pics coming out of this weekend. And I thought my Saturday was cool... Posting pics anyway.

A buddy and I located an allegedly lost CCC trail, and it skied way better than the breadcrumbs sprinkled around the internet suggested it would or should. Twisty turny, steep, and just wide enough for two guys to share fresh tracks, with minimal bushwacking... for the descent at least. The slog out was another story.

This does not come as a surprise. It has to land somewhere. Hoping we can find it.

The Loaf was FKNA fun today, limited lifts = most folks with a day ticket don't know how to get around to the goods. There was about 20 locals in line waiting for first chair, about an hour ago I took my last run for the day down Haulback and there was like five tracks on it.

Tomorrow is supposed to be cold and windy...

Highest wind gust at my house today in the past 15 years - 57 MPH. Average wind speed of 40 MPH. Surprised I still have power.

Good - but short - day at Stowe today. The 11 year old threw a 3 off of a 3 foot ledge, made some pow turns, hit a snowsnake and then had his first run-in with a tree. I pretended not to hear the loud F-bomb, and instead sidestepped back up the hill to dry the tears and reassure him that all was well.

Back at it tomorrow. With extra layers

Oh, and to the d-bag who drank a founders all day IPA and threw the can in the snowbank in the Gondi lot - my 9 year old son picked it up for you. He is a much better human being than you are.

Also - why are you drinking that shit? It sucks.

North wind practically pushed me up the hill this afternoon. Went out for a twilight skin up Sterling. Being the only skier on the mountain gave me the opportunity to be the best skier on the mountain. A rare moment for me. Snow on the trails consisted of deep, fairly dense drifts, wind buffed and wind scoured. Trees should be tits tomorrow.

Am I reading that right? 24 hour max speed of 170 mph?

Edit: I was looking at the “dial”. I see the table says 171.

I grabbed a shot yesterday when the wind shifted, calm before the windstorm.

Nicely done. Strong tail wind, my kind of skin conditions...I'll take all the assistance I can get!

115mph wind on Manny at 6:55 tonight with sustained still at 65mph as of 8:00 and not much let up in the forecast, might need those skins again for tomorrow.

If lifts are on wind hold and you brought your skins, head lookers left and skin up the cat skiing area on Burnt Mtn. Should be filled in with the wind!
