I fixed your quote to reflect the reality of the snowfields at Sugarloaf... it is always very scruffy and thin cover at the very top. Don't go to Sugarloaf thinking of skiing some perfect above treeline powderfield, not gonna happen. I've skied there over the course of 3 decades and have maybe 2-3 days where conditions have lined up to be really enjoyable in the snowfields. Most times I core shot my skis, like yesterday. But you should go to Sugarloaf for some of the steeper and narrower New England classic runs complimented by some newer cut glade skiing, all skied by some interesting locals... Most days there are some really good skiers on the hill, which is fun.

Thanks for all the pics gentlemen, my stoke level for this weekend could not be higher. The mid-week jealousy level is equally maxed out.

Fine last few pages with almost no bitching and endless stoke! Who knew there was a mag mini at da bush yesterday, hell I might have even shared a chair with Bunny had I known but Mrs FD would have sussed him out immediately.

Props to Rob/Dangur, Boreas, t-east and Moeghoul (I miss one f'n day damnit!) for the earned turns. Late edit to akok and the Bottleclan, especially for today's endeavors, brave to say the least!

    Get it now, 3.0 looms.

Edit 2 to mniaw for the killer liquid delivery this afternoon.

Laps has been kind enough to offer to show me around BV BC on Saturday afternoon. Anyone else around Bolton tomorrow or Sunday morning to take some runs (IB or OOB is fine with me)?

the last time I was at Whaleback it was stooopid cold. then the sun went down and all the OG Dartmouth beer can racers showed up to race. Met some cool people in the lodge , gearing up as we were packing up and drinking beers. Whaleback is what skiing and ski racing USED to be. Solid hard core vibe there. no attitude

3` above zero light wind and a mostly cloudless sky bob.

Lets hope Tim doesn't stomp around near this.

Mansfield looking ready for the Big Tour. Early start today. Got my slice and home by 8. Lots of tracks, but the back yard is still skiing pretty damn kind. Beauty of a sunrise while we transitioned. Winter is fun.

I heard Wilderness has been down. Should make for some epic touring over that way with access limited. Have fun!

Heard that on the radio this morning about the record January Mansfield depth.

    Also
    Burlington = #3 January snowfall
St Johnsbury = #5 January snowfall
Still 27" at my stake in Lyndon

Still hoping for more in February. But just in case the rest winter shits the bed, get out there and get it this weekend!

    The parking lot this morning.

Fast groomers were a brain freeze. Fortunately, some pow remnants remained ungroomed to check speed.

Yeah, those Gremlins are particularly quirky in the winter.
