I had quite the collection of beer glasses borrowed from pubs and bars on my travels. Not sure of the number, but at least a few dozen. Not sure how to report them on my fire insurance. I paid for the beer in them, but not the glass. I will have to travel half way around the world to replace them, so do travel expenses count?
We did claim about 1,500 books, many 1st eds. and signed.

I’ve got a quiver of quivers so to speak. In plain terms too much stuff.
Way too many ball caps,
Jackets, hard shells, soft shells, puffy coats,
Boots, hunting boots, work boots, gum boots, etc
Guns, not sure why but I’ve got way more rifles than I ever neededBeing grown-up sucks!

Theoretically yes, practically speaking, no. In the end insurance won't cover all the losses, and some of what money was paid will go towards rebuilding, since insurance doesn't totally cover that cost either.
No doubt we will still collect books, it is just who we are, but probably won't replace a lot of the previous collection.

Unfortunately 1st albums I was flying blind in the deep rual south. Bought KC & Sunshine band with that's the way uh uh and get down tonite on it (I remember a grey star or simething on the cover). 2nd was kiss Alive which I bought just cause they looked mighty fuckin cool to an 11 yr old. Next three albums were Kiss and never bought another KC & Sunshine band album.
YMMV."Can't you see..."

I suppose if i collect, or think about "collecting" anything this would be it. Ms. MT started it, getting a refigerator magnet for where we'd been. Starts upper left ( fuck it I got no idea how to rotate, looks right on my pc. so it flows lower left to upper right. tilt your head. ) starts with one from the honeymoon, and flows nort-east. I guess something like 28 years of trips here - roughly in order on a timeline.

First albums:
For my 14th birthday, my grandparents sent me 3 LPs. "Something New" by The Beatles, "Let It Bleed" by The Rolling Stones and "Welcome To My Nightmare" by Alice Cooper. I listened to them in that order and my life was changed. I have no doubt my grandparents had no idea what they were buying and some store clerk got a kick out of including Alice in the mix. The lavender sleeve for "Let It Bleed" has the words "THIS RECORD SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD" printed in large, capital letters at the bottom. I took that instruction to heart. But "Welcome To My Nightmare" was the catalyst for so much to follow, dark themes in hard rock that challenge social norms. It wasn't until later that I learned "necrophilia" is the word to describe what's going on in "Cold Ethyl." I still have those LPs along with all the other ones I bought and was gifted throughout the 70s and 80s. I'll occasionally clean one off and queue it up for a retro listening experience, particularly if it's something that I don't have a digital version of.If it's too loud, you're too old
