“Venus” was on our high school cafeteria jukebox. Playing it signaled the start of a food fight. The actual fight would begin at the first chorus (“she got it!”) leaving a reaosnable amount of time for non-combatants to exit before the festivities.

Splat you should go cheer him up. Let him know he would have been miserable with that singer. She was most likely screwing her manager, if not the lead guitarist.
My freshman year college roommate was a "one true love guy." He was dating his HS gf who was one year younger and he would spend a week making her a mixtape which he would mail home. Never went out to meet other girls. I ran into him a year later on campus and asked how his gf was. She was apparently banging some other dude her senior year and now attending college 3000 miles away on the west coast.
