Alagna had a lot of couloirs, most accessed by the lifts and maybe an hour skinning, mostly less.
Some are very steep, like malfata, most are in the 45 degree range.

I spent two weeks there in the late 90s and had a blast. With a guide, I've of the few times in my life, but it was worth it, at the time there were no books about the steeps.

    Not too many bars though.

Best if you go with your girlfriend or wife.

I went in January, snow was fantastic.

Blimey, if this comes to fruition this weekend they’ll have a hell of a start to the season!

A bit off topic, but just wanted to thank everybody on here with Euro vaca recommendations a few weeks ago. Just got back home from 2 weeks over there, and while we didn't get to visit the Alps, it was a great trip. We did get a good view of the mountains from the plane on the way from Rome to Heathrow, however, and damn were they beautiful. Already planning a ski trip for 2020 to get a proper taste of the Alps.

I did meet a couple of Swiss women's alpine team members at baggage claim in Boston, though. On their way to the Killington World Cup. Good luck, ladies!

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.
