Naaaa I typically went straight through from opening bell to 2-230ish on most any day, pow or otherwise. While we all prefer untracked lines, I mostly knew how to find good skiing when the "couple run" folks split because it was "too tracked out".

I just like when alta gets super smooth after closing and provides copious amounts of corn skiing.

Oh and thanks for deflecting half of the questions on the hike out.
Good meeting ya up there as well. I was just remarking this morning that one of things I like about spring skiing are summit naps while you wait for the snow to soften. I shot ya a PM with my number if you ever wanna ski or need someone to ski with, I like to ski and am easily talked into skiing

haha true! good seeing you out there, I'll hit you up if you wanna get out there soon... I plan on going full tilt until there's nothing left but Alta (and even then I'll probably ski Alta quite a bit)

Checked out Wolverine today, was still a bit firm when we dropped into Granny's around noon. Seemed like most of the avy debris is smoothing out. The home run line down Microwave was primo corn.Click image for larger version.

Been a great few weeks! I think the snowpack has transitioned seamlessly and to the victor goes the spoils or something like that. High Fructose Corn Syrup for everyone!

Last tuesday skied Tuk since it was on the way back from the San Juans. parking lot fire and sunset.

congo line up Tuk. do you think this mountain has become more popular because someone put it on their published list? and then some other dude's decided to ski that dude's list?

Saturday, slept in. Luckily, I have understanding ski partners and we were able to salvage the day by skiing the SE face off red baldy followed by a run down long john silvers. Snowbird is the best resort in Utah. When all the gates are open and their neighbor is closed, snowbird is ze best no doubt. tons of snowbirders hitting up the sidecountry and ruining my moment of zen. Just kidding, I enjoyed the party on Red Top.

Sunday, skied North Basin off the middle peak of Nebo. Peak to creek for 4600í vert of creamy corn. Good times.

Looking good out there! Currently trying to decide between Squaw and Snowbird (and environs) this weekend for a couple days of skiing on my way out to San Fran for business next week. They should both get some new snow toward the end of the week (so much for spring skiing, huh?)......but which to roll the dice on? Current airline reservations are to SLC, the Bird is handing out free lift tickets with lodging, and Iíve been eying up Red Baldy, so Iím leaning, just gotta finalize!

    Sick!!!
There's so much to do on Nebo if you're willing to endure the slog that comes with dropping on any aspect that isn't directly over I-15...
What was your exit if you don't mind me asking? Down the road to the campground? Is the lower road even opened yet?

Can't speak to Squaw but things are unbelievable out here for May. Red Baldy should be skinable from the parking lot, and every aspect is filled up. Skied the NE shot as well as Rock n Roll so far this year and both times were great.

Tanners this morning was a little less than great...

snowaddict91 smiling because there's nothing to do but laugh once you're up there. If we do get a decent freeze, the coverage is there... maybe 10 mins on the informal hiking trail and you hit continuous snow (well, continuous "snow"), but not recommended tomorrow morning, for example. A few inches of dense spring snow would do wonders up there though...

...now for some serious P-Tex work on my bases

snowaddict was saying this morning, you know logically that at some point the season will end... but the end is not even in sight yet. more snow coming...

the traverse feels airy. decent snow, all things considered. firm and attention-getting up high and corn to variable on the exit. NAEFS plumes for the next few days don't look too shabby either

    Nice!

If anyone is going to be out in the LCC environs this weekend and would like some company, give a shout. My last day out there included the Superior summit, skiing Cardiac and working our way across Cardiff/Mill D South, ultimately gaining the ridge to ski Mineral Fork, then to the shuttle car on BCC road. While Iím always the old guy bringing up the rear of the skin track, Iím a willing, and pretty capable, partner....

Hey dude, I just shot over an PM. Much easier than I expected about an hour of hiking with ski ons the pack before and after you ski north basin. Plan on creek crossings.

6-8Ē of dense snow made for nice surfy turns. snowed all morning, and saw more drifting than expected. squeezed in three laps in grizzly and only saw two people in the distance on the exit. good times and more on the way.
