ZZZ, I think its a good idea! I'd ask to join ya but I think I have to do chores on saturday, I'll double check with the boss tho
Alta is still skiing well especially because they're still using snowcats to service their snow guns which gives you a nice 10 foot wide surface free of sun cups to ski to the base
Went across the street this morning for a little multi sport fun. My bet would be that the apron is toast soon.

A mile isn't bad. If I can motivate, I'll get in touch.
Oof, full size, crew cab here. That road is the mental crux for me.
I should honestly be getting stuff done too. But skiing is stuff?
I've heard the ridge traverse is fun, but looks like the best access now would be straight up the gut with pons? Especially with the forecasted temps.

You can always hike from the bottom in tennies...I've always walked from the bottom lacking a proper vehicle.
Man, what a year to be laid up. First year without a tour in 45? And one of the better snowpacks especially at lower elevations.
Woulda hooked up with you mofos otherwise...living vicariously through y'all...Time spent skiing cannot be deducted from one's life.

I never drove, always the passenger, and always gripped as hell. That road is good for ATVs but it always feels like a truck is going to roll off into the creek. When we hit the snow line a few years back in a double-cab long bed Taco we hadn't seen a spot to turn around in 20 minutes. Buddy turned around on the spot, took a lot of patience and upper body strength on his end to muscle the taco around and some real effort on my part to stay in the truck when the nose was hanging over the creek...

^^ no doubt and your wife sounds nice! did some recon wed after work and saw the highway was in use, several people camping and the provo river falls were just ripping.
picked up mtnbiker/boarder at the airport thurs, got our gear and headed out to the uintas. drove around, looking for some fun lines and set up camp.
late start only allowed for one quick run as the weather was coming in.
temps dropped into low 30s and it snowed overnight
some serious runnels down low but not too bad searching for the smooth
north facing skied well for june 21 with a little bit of fresh mixed in on top
on saturday, we got the 10-yr-old and skied the bird. he pretty much lapped the snake on rasta chutes and hit the wave while mtnbiker/boarder and i chased him around. flurrying and 24 degrees hiking up to the tram before 2. sick time mtnbiker/boarder.

skied bald mountain and reid's peak yesterday morning.
east face of bald. not the best coverage I've seen up there when they've gotten around to opening the road, but whatcha gonna do when they open it in late June?
went up a ways then skied
then wrapped around to the base of the north couloir of reids
ran out of snow
Couloir was smooth, runnel was easily avoidable, you should go ski it
wife wanted to ski main shoot this morning
Chute skis great, the rest is a little sun affected

I try to do all my tuning myself to save $$$, but I've got about 8 pairs of skis (not all mine!) that are overdue for a base grind. Any shops still doing tunes, or should I hold off for the fall? Also, anybody had luck getting a volume discount?
Thanks!

Does anyone have a definitive answer about Snowbird's uphill policy after tomorrow? Fair game to hike up to Pipeline this weekend or are they going to claim that there are still operations going on and it isn't allowed yet? Are tram bumps going to be allowed as well?

Not sure what's going on after tomorrow, but tomorrow is going to be a shitshow. They're desperately trying to move snow from the ramp down from the tram onto Regulator. Word is that skiing Mark Malu and beyond will require walking parts of the RTP. Huge amounts of novelty skiers are expected, probably more than the tram can convey to the top.
