Damn I've been gone from this place a long time. WTF does BBI stand for? Bummer about comma. Loved the runs I got there back when they were open.

Jeeeesus it gets deep an all of a sudden everyone is here. Doesn’t matter if it’s midweek or not.

Had a few delectable S facing runs before noon yesterday. Went for an afternoon W facing run and we had slow moving, soft, wet sluffs and I got a sunburn.

Well I wasnt saying that you were the problem, i had just heard it was the bird side that was less interested in opening that terrain. I never tried getting it from the snowbird side. Is it possible without dipping into Alta first?

Heck im glad I got to ski it those couple years. Fun line, but you best know exactly where you're going.

Thanks for all the hard work Tele...

You can try calling but it’s just him and his wife running the show and they were crazy booked as of a month ago (consistently referring people to his former employee now at 2nd tracks). When I was there he told me it’s better stop by in person to make an appt if you have time, or just wait a week and they will get back to you.

He’s still off 900 by some roofing supply. It’s on google maps now, info below

Weird, I went there and couldn’t find him. Thought I found Unit D and there was some other logo on the door. I’ll try again, thanks.

It was open one season and pine day. The one day it opened the next year a snowboarder was hurt in a small slide just beyond the keyhole rope line.

If you did have a photographic memory what angle would it be at?

Caught a perfect window before moisture returns with a vengeance. Had to get up mallwalker-early and deal with some brutal cold and creepy fog but it was well worth it once things lit up.

Up the BW apron for a NE face... Not many apron ascents. God the NE face looks good for early March.
You and the Walker been getting after some obscure lately. Well done!

I had been up that way in the spring a long time ago, it feels faster than any of the other approaches. Booting the E face is more committing with all the stuff hanging over your head and the cliff below, although I would have preferred knowing what the cliff looked like instead of dropping in blind. And the S face is not really an option I think, traversing the ridge would take a lot of time and even more fear.
The BW aprons are a bit shorter and lower angle than the E face, less time spent facing the dragon! In 2011 there was a monster crown across both aprons, this time we managed to skin the sluffs about 2/3 of the way up then it was perfect booting. And the cirque is such a magical place to be!
I had been waiting to go back up there since getting skunked in 2011. Could probably have done it a dozen times since then but 8 years is a short time to wait for the right conditions!
